Louise - "Confession" + Confessions (May 23)

The way this song is so casually exquisite. I'm sensing a real pride from Louise when talking about the album. Sadly I missed the leak, but convelling over the ultra bop promise of Kill My Vibe.

Like I know it’s not anyone’s fault on here but the impact this has on the artist and their team is massive. The hard work and effort that goes into it all and the preparation for the announcements and the eventual release for it to be ruined by a silly computer mistake. Just sad then y’all in here talking about it, rubbing it in that you’ve heard it or others asking for the songs. We all know teams look in here so I guess the positive is those who have heard it have said it’s great but let’s just make sure we support the album and buy it and share the announcements when they eventually happen as planned.

I’m looking forward to now being able to do a Louise rate once this is out- I can’t see there being a huge uptake but she actually has quite a diverse discography. Every album has been pretty different and we’ll all have different tastes when it comes to her (though Arms Around the World is probably a guaranteed win).

I did once say i’d never partake in another rate again after my first experience wasn't an enjoyable one (too much nitpicking over nothing) but i’d happily take part in a Louise Rate!

I think you will be surprised at how little impact this has.

I'm glad people are lapping this new album up who were fortunate enough to get it after the Apple Music blunder. It's a nice feeling when you hear something early or that is exclusive to you (
Personally I haven't heard it in full, only the snippets and as I've said in a previous post, it was obvious "confessions" was made with one demographic in mind after what happened with those who shall not be named, along with her team being 95% made up of gay men, it was obvious this was the direction Louise and her team were going to take.

The release date has gone too on Amazon so there's every chance the release might be pushed forward because someone at Apple Music pressed the wrong button and we all get to hear it before 23rd May.

For me, 'Heavy Love' will always be my number one. It's the one album I'd take with me on a desert island.
It's such a magical record that never loses its charm when you listen to it. That run from "Stretch" to "Hammer" is wall-to-wall pop bop & banger heaven. And "Wrong" is to date her finest vocal on record and always a goosebumps moment.
The way she interacted with her fans during the making of on twitter when it was a less posionsus place, felt being a part of community. She still does now, but not as much as she did during the making of that record.

Like many other 90's Legacy artists, she could have easily done something half arsed, MoR or a covers album after Strictly. Instead, she put her heart & guts into something truly outstanding.
I'm glad she's continued to throw away the rule book and not played safe.

I’ve thought about the release date being brought forward as I think it would be too late to add anything to the release as a new incentive for buyers.
