Lovelyz is a South-Korean girl group formed in 2014 by Woollim Entertainment, who also mismanage handle other great idol groups such as Infinite and Golden Child. Lovelyz consists of 8 members : Baby Soul, Jiae, Jisoo, Mijoo, Kei, Jin, Sujeong and Yein. Debuting with Candy Jelly Love in 2014, Lovelyz faces turbulence and hardship in their early days. But through persistence, luck and ambition, Lovelyz manage to secure a hit with Ah-Choo in 2015 and continue leaving their landmark in K-pop world to these days.

With the help of Jaden Jeong (who later also help PJ darlings LOONA and OnlyOneOf) as creative director and legendary musician Yoon Sang as executive music producer, Lovelyz manage to craft a sound and visual that is uniquely them since their debut. Synths drenched soundscape, dreamy and melancholic melody with a strong sense of femininity and demure – you just know a Lovelyz song when you hear it.

7 years into their career, I think it’s time to evaluate their excellent discography or get into their discography deeply if you’re just a casual fan before. Come join us through this magical and bittersweet journey !

I'm also not familiar with most of Lovelyz's stuff, and I wouldn't have the time to rate all the songs fairly.

I will however drop by from time to time to check if Never, Secret (their best song) gets booted before its due time (the top 3) and then note the names.

Who whould've thought this aegyo machine is actually the second oldest member in the group ? Born 1993, Jiae is probably the first member of Lovelyz to be introduced to public when she appeared at Infinite variety show You're My Oppa as Infinite's sister (click here if you want to watch it). After that, she debuted her cute and whimsical solo song 'Delight' in 2013 and finally debuted as Lovelyz member in 2014.

Jiae is your classic Qri archetype, she isn't particularly excels in everything beside being pretty dddd. However, she's an aegyo / cutesy ace, being Lovelyz's main charm during their early days. Imagine not stanning her rap in Joyland ? Jessi and CL whomst ? Jiae is the true SK baddest female !



Despite being known for her cutesy vocals, Jiae real singing voice are more mature and more comfortable in her lower range which is sadly underutilized by Woollim. Delight, her solo song, highlight her true vocal range and beautiful vocal quality. My favorite vocal moment from her are probably from Goodnight Like Yesterday, where her lower range shook and shine brightly there.



Her future in entertainment industry doesn't seems so bright sadly, as she's never given any chance to showcase her skills, whether it's variety, acting or singing. Maybe she will do a 180 and becoming indie muse a la Eyedi / Neon Bunny / Yukika ? Or maybe trying voice acting gigs ? Who knows, but we will support you in your future endeavor queen !
