Hmm, this seems quite interesting. I'm not familiar with their music at all, but hosting a rate of a band that was greatly influenced by Madness definitely makes me want to check it out.
Pretty cool how both rates are running at the same time.

How many songs will be on the list, @simes1970?

I appreciate you are asking simes1970 but until he clarifies it for us, I would guess it would be roughly 27 singles.

In honour of this rate I have updated the Retrochart Vault entry for Madness. It Must Be Love has finally gone GOLD since the last update in Sept 1983.

One of the most consistent hit makers of the first three years of the chart, they have missed out on hitting the top ten with their last five singles now.

Here's their Australian singles chart history...

Baggy Trousers #30 (25 weeks in top 100)
Grey Day #82 (6 weeks)
It Must Be Love #6 (24 weeks)
House of Love #5 (15 weeks)
Driving In My Car #20 (10 weeks)
Our House #17 (15 weeks)
Tomorrow's Just Another Day #98 (2 weeks)
Wings of a Dove #72 (4 weeks)
Yesterday's Men #54 (8 weeks)
It Must Be Love (1992 re-issue) #48 (15 weeks in top 150)
House of Fun (1992 re-issue) #73 (5 weeks in top 150)
My Girl (1992 re-issue) #145 (1 week in top 150)*
The Harder They Come #136 (3 weeks in top 150)*

* exclusively revealed here!

I felt obliged to include the weeks, as our chart is not like the UK chart where #20 is a flop and you're out of the chart 3 weeks later.

It's possible that later singles charted outside the top 100, but I don't have that data beyond 1995 yet.

Singles released in Australia that did not chart:

One Step Beyond
The Prince
My Girl (1980 release)
Night Boat to Cairo
Dance Crazy (EP)
Embarrassment
Shut Up
Michael Caine
One Better Day
Uncle Sam
Sweetest Girl

Oddly, 'Cardiac Arrest' appears to have been issued in New Zealand, but not in Australia.
