Madonna - 15th Album

I don't really think it is though. It's only similar lyrically in the broadest of strokes. Where are songs like Nobody Knows Me, Mother & Father, I'm So Stupid, etc.? American Life is specific. Confessions is full of platitudes. The closest she gets to American Life-like introspection is How High and even that song is super general.

Confessions very much picks up where American Life left off in terms of its existentialism and grappling with her own celebrity. "How High" and "Let It Will Be" are pretty clearly channeling "Nobody Knows Me" and "I'm So Stupid". "Mother & Father" is more specific, but "Jump" expands on that same journey, bringing her to New York City for the first time. "Push" is often attributed to a lover, but I believe Madonna said it was actually about her fans. Again, part of the same journey where her mother's death acted as a catalyst for her pursuing fame.

I share the idea that her working with new people is simply a more interesting avenue, but Stuart kind of feels like a bit of an exception. He's still very much a contemporary pop music producer, and his role he's played in the three tours he has been a part of display a really keen sense of how she and her music work at their best. Out of all the producers from her past she could have worked with, he's the one that feels like the best fit for her now. Besides, I'd be surprised if he's the only person in the mix.

What also thrills me is that with Stuart we are almost guaranteed that she'll be making SONGS. He understands structure, giving songs time to breathe, heavy on hooks and melody, even if they are beat driven. I loved Madame X and the experimentation she did on a great part of it, but I'm really curious to see at least one more pop album like only she can serve.

Yes! I'm ready for something immediate and fun from our Queen again. Actually, I'm ready for anything from our queen again.

I’m equal parts excited/dreading for another Stuart-helmed Madonna album because while they’ve made magic together and he really snapped on the Celebration Tour mixes (and hopefully the album remasters whenever they come out), the balding millennial gays who only acknowledge Confessions out of her entire discography are going to be absolutely insufferable over this.

Those pictures have got me so excited in hopes this is a new album with Stuart at helm, at first I thought it could be Celebration tour related, but the more I look at the photos, the more it looks like the process of creating new music.

She's likely had a new album on her mind ever since the 50 questions for Finally Enough Love, where she said she wanted her next album to be House, and with this being the biggest gap between studio albums for her, I wonder if that gap has triggered a creative thirst for new music.

For me the dream would be Madonna and Stuart co-executive producing the album with Max and Abel throwing their hats in the ring for a few tracks. Only other thing would be locking in whoever produced her Popular vocals - an essential!

I think that if she does make music with Stuart and Max Martin she can deliver another amazing just pure pop album, Weeknd can be a mixed bag because his current singles are kinda meh.

I would like her to work with Blessed Madonna again for one or two songs, she did an amazing work with the Levitating remix and the current Kylie single produced by her is great too (it feels like Kylie’s BIM moment).

Also the Guess remix of Charli and Billie sounds cool and is produced by The Dare who has been mentioned lately as an upcoming dance pop producer.

And also James Ford who produced What’s Your Pleasure? for Jessie Ware, the music is lush, sexy, modern and that would fit M.

I hope that she sticks to London or European producers, Rebel Heart is cute but sounds dated and American producers suck at doing pop besides Jack Antonoff (Sabrina, Taylor, Lana); she should ditch Mike Dean too and the whole urban/rapper scene chasing she has been doing since RH, enough with the rapper features and bring some nice collaborations.
