Madonna - 15th Album

He did a version? Wow!
I had always heard that he was supposed to be the original feature and Meshell Ndegeocello was a last minute replacement, but I don't know how much of that is apocryphal vs. fact.

(And for what it's worth, while the Pac feature would have been iconic, I think Meshell does a fine job and her bass adds something extra so it's not like it was a downgrade)

This is from Genius but I think it reads true from what I've read in the past

The original guest rap was written and performed by Madonna’s sometime-lover 2Pac. When his sexual assault case came to light, she dropped his verse and had Me'Shell NdegéOcello (who was signed to Madonna’s Maverick Records) record a new one one.

So I was reading Madonnasongbook and in reality Your Honesty is the original version (that song was going to be on the album but at the last minute Don’t Stop repalced it). Even if in the credits on Remixed And Revisited it says it’s a remix, it’s not. It was a mistake made by Warner. Caresse picked the song herself because it was one of unreleased songs she always liked.
The Pettibone demos sound interesting, mainly the one that became Inside Of Me and Bring It, but on the last one the tape at the Library was a bit damaged so who knows if a better version exist.
Also Tongued Tied and Goodtime were regitred by Pettibone in 1996 but they are not present at the Library.

P.S: I’m obsessed all over again with Love Won’t Wait. Such a Great melody!

Can confirm that the English errors are insubstantial / few and far between. Please don’t let that put you off, it’s the best and most comprehensive book out there about Madonna’s music. Get it now before it sells out and goes for ridiculous prices on eBay.

Better than the Like an Icon one?
