Madonna - 15th Album

The HIStory idea would be interesting if the second disc is the reworks as opposed to the original versions, which I can see them doing anyway. Something to package Hung Up on Tokischa, Fireboy DML Frozen etc.

Get Christine & the Queens to return the favour and feature on something like Take a Bow, Shygirl on Bedtime Story or Erotica, Arca on La Isla Bonita, Doja on Candy Shop x

I was thinking the same! If true, I wonder if she would keep holding those tracks back for the potential of another film?

I would assume whatever they had written would have lyrics or production meant to reference her back catalogue. So seems the songs could still make sense to be released around a greatest hits tour instead.

Max Martin is good news. Finally someone with enough balls to talk to Mx about the quality of the writing.

Things can only get better!

Don’t shoot me but, I couldn’t help notice Busted have announced a 20th anniversary Greatest Hits tour along with an album of re-recorded hits featuring other artists. Since we already have 4 “remixed” songs by Madonna could this be what we’re getting? I know it’s been discussed as a possibility, but it seems this is becoming more of a thing in the industry?

Max changes top-line melodies and produces vocals (e.g. “sing this part like this with these vowels and this level of nasalness in your tone and in this part of your register”). The quality of his overall “production” usually depends on co-writers (e.g. Shellback, Savan Kotecha, D*. L*ke) and co-producers/sound-designers (e.g. Cirkut). I’m definitely excited to hear what they come up with. Hopefully she won’t settle for anything basic.

No shade but Madonna of all people doing straight re-records is the last thing I want or need. Putting aside that most of the time it ends up being a bit of a wash anyway (like, I love Blondie but you can't tell me that re-recorded greatest hits didn't sound like karaoke) some of her fanbase really don't need to complain any more than they already do.

As divisive as the remixes of Frozen, Material Girl, and Hung Up have been, the way she's been experimenting with her own discography feels perfectly in line with her ethos from the jump.

Yeah I agree I don’t think Madonna would put out an album of “reworking”, just like we’ve never had a covers, orchestral or Christmas album, I really hope it stays that way.
I think a lot of the releases we’ve had over the 12 months are her experimenting with the streaming era.
