I refuse to believe you girls prefer to listen to songs like Masterpiece or any of those post-Erotica drippy ballads over Spanish Lesson and S.E.X. I’m not buying that.
Masterpiece is trite dross, I probably should've scored it way lower than i did because I fear its gonna outstay its welcome because some fans really think its worth defending.
Huh? She made her best ballads after Erotica so I don’t know what you’re talking about. And yes, 99% of these ballads are definitely better than Spanish Lesson and S.E.X.
216 SCORE: 5.424 2015 PLACEMENT: 196 of 210 (5.191) HIGHEST SCORE: 9 x 2 (@WoW73 @joeee) LOWEST SCORE: 0 x 1 (@Dangerous Maknae) MY SCORE: 5/10 I mean, really. What a racket. Another stabbing, stuttering production courtesy of The Neptunes, some festive jingling, Pharrell's looped and chopped yipping and yapping, and a song title that is immediately going to cast up unfavourable comparisons. I don't really have anything left to say about it. The show is over say goodbye indeed. It was an iTunes pre-order bonus track back in the day, but despite it apparently only being available for people who pre-ordered, it's still available for purchase twelve years later. The Sticky & Sweet Tour did only just end last week though, so I guess it's understandable.
A Hard Candy Madonna cover of Anita's Ring My Bell would have been an absolutely iconic bonus track. The one we got is a bit of a basic bop.
Actually a 4 was probably too generous. I mean - Life's not the same until you're in pain.. That has to be one of her worst lines ever, no?
“Ring My Bell” is a stone-cold bop. There is so much worse that’s yet to be eliminated. Half of MDNA.
There are a worrying amount of likes on this messy take. Living for Love remains one of her most refreshing lead singles and among her absolute best post-Confessions singles.
