I mean, she kind of does, but I love it when M goes full cyborg. It would be a rebuke of my username if I didn't! (But yes, she is vastly more capable of... everything.)
I didn’t vote, so I can’t mope, but Iconic’s departure is so jarring. I remember being annoyed at the chorus suctioning all momentum out of the track, but then every other song in the past 6 years started doing the same - and Iconic was better than any of them. Mother still paving the way? She just can’t help herself!
Iconic’s chrous drop is something you’d hear in a BTS or Blackpink song today, queen of setting trends even when she’s supposedly chasing them!
The last three eliminations arent really fair, Iconic, Ciao Bella and Spotlight are all 8s They didnt deserve to leave this early. I wouldnt mind Faz Gostoso, Dear Jeesie and Bye Bye Baby leaving now
This rate is so fun for me—especially because people keep posting trash opinions, like getting rid of Heartbeat and Bitch I'm Madonna!
157 SCORE: 6.712 2015 PLACEMENT: DOWN 53 - 104 of 210 (7.186) HIGHEST SCORE: 10 x 6 (@aux @Angeleyes @Andrew.L @TrueBeliever @Music Is Life @Weslicious) LOWEST SCORE: 2 x 1 (@matthew.) MY SCORE: 6/10 The one that got away? More like the one that wouldn't fuck off. I'm surprised to find that my score for this was as high as 6/10 because I've thought that it was out of its depth here for a while. It also means that all the tracks from the Super Extra Special Please Dear God No More Songs I Can't Breathe Deluxe Edition of Rebel Heart have been expelled from the rate. I've always thought that this sounds like it uses the leftover parts of "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" that Madonna didn't use for "Hung Up", and she figured that since she got the rights to the full song she might as well not waste it. I mean if the opening guitar riff isn't giving you ABBA then I don't know what tell you. Use every part of the animal etc. It's fine and quite solid structurally (Savan Kotecha and Rami Yacoub are present in the writing credits so it's not surprising), but I honestly think it does well because it's got a Big Thumpy Chorus that neutralises homosexual critical thinking. Like, the chorus is just poorly mastered noise. This does appear to be one of the few Avicii songs that kept its original production treatment all the way to the end, and it definitely sounds typical of the sounds he was producing at the time. I'll link to the demo below that has slight differences, but nothing major. I'm sure this will be immediately followed by one of y'all going, "Um ACTUALLY in Demo Pack 16 from the seventh leak on 9th December 2014 there are twelve demos that show the track started life inspired by Mongolian throat singing!" but enjoy for now.
What the heck?! "Addicted" is amazing and deserved a top 100 placement for sure. The elimination order of "Rebel Heart" tracks is a damn mess.
