The press release mentioned Madonn, Like a Virgin, True Blue, Like a Prayer, and Ray of Light, so I’m assuming it’ll be them.
I think the video is the least Madonna video we had overall. It just looks like what a Madonna video is supposed to look like made by somebody who actually don’t really get her. I don’t care she made it. Sometimes artists don’t get what their work is about.I remember at the time being so happy about it because it was the most 'Madonna' video we'd had in ages and referenced a lot of her earlier work - along with that killer Russ Meyers inspired look.
Agreed. Living for Love was stronger as the demo in my opinion.Hate that the leaks of the album made her go in and reproduce some of it, because the reproductions aren't as good as the original demos.
Girl Gone Wild is atrocious, part of a one-two punch (with Give Me All Your Luvin) that felt distressingly like the real end of the road for her, quality-wise. If this is what Madonna felt was worthy of releasing, it meant that the well must have dried up. A dark time. Of course the tour, superbowl and other shenanigans kind of made up for it, AND I can appreciate Girl Gone Wild at a very arm's length way for it's faults almost... ie the nasal singing is a kii, the fact it is SO dated even for the time, anaemic and just shit overall is kind of a lark looking back... the much-praised video being crap if we're being honest but HOT MEN SO..?!
It's a mess, but I look back with fondness only now we're firmly out of the doldrums.

I said that the press release mentioned those albums (The deal encompasses her entire Sire/Maverick/Warner catalog, including global smash albums such as Madonna, Like a Virgin, True Blue, Like a Prayer, and Ray of Light) so I’m assuming it’ll be them. Not true, those albums are mentioned at the beginning of the article along with the interscope albums about Warner getting all her catalog. They just said "many of her albums" when they talked about the deluxe versions:
2022 will mark the 40th anniversary of Madonna’s recording debut. This new deal heralds the launch next year of an extensive, multi-year series of catalog releases that will revisit the groundbreaking music that made her an international icon. For the first time, Madonna will personally curate expansive deluxe editions for many of her landmark albums, as well as introduce unique releases for special events, and much more.
At the very least. So many Madonna gems that need to see the light of day officially at long, long last.A "The Rarities"-type 4CD (at least) career-spanning boxset please.
This is the artwork I got and it’s still in my library despite my efforts to change it to the official artwork. The day that those Rebel Heart demos leaked was so bizarre, especially since I think they used this photoshoot as the artwork

It was still so completely unexpected.
