Madonna

I see some people in other boards being dramatic saying they barely expect her to dance. So I did some digging and here's four recent performances from singers in their 60s to calm everyone's nerves. These are all great and she can easily surpass all of these.

Music and Confessions were probably her most well received eras by UK media and critics since Blond Ambition. She could literally do no wrong around those times.

Short Story: would absolutely love if Bedtime Stories was the first reissue with loads of material to get people’s attention. It feels special to have a fully expanded edition of such low key gem.

I'm a popjustice pauper, so can't afford to see her in concert this time around, so I'm extra thirsty for details about the upcoming reissues instead.

When the Bedtime Stories rumors (Rhino tweeting the limited velvet edition, the Instagram filter dd) popped up, I had a quick idea/thought that it could probably be the era with most material in the vaults and that we are unaware.

More “cult-following” albums like Confessions, Ray Of Light and Erotica all had full demo tapes leaked through the years with Demos and Unreleaseds. The 80s also had a different approach it seems and there’s not a lot of “outtakes” since everything happened quicker (not saying there’s not 2 or 3 unused songs that we might not be aware, but still).

But then from like Bedtime Stories we have only stuff that was officially put out outside the album (Freedom, Let Down Your Guard (which is labeled as a rough demo), Your Honesty (2004!!), then the Tupac leak of I’d Rather…. and I think there’s a Survival “demo instrumental” without any vocal. We know she had early sessions for the album, there’s iconic things like “Something’s Coming Over” and there’s probably more that we don’t know…

Let Down Your Guard
Your Honesty
Right On Time
Freedom
I'd Rather B Ya Lova
Keep On
Tongue Tied
Bring It
Love Won't Wait
Goodtime
Something's Coming Over Me
I Will Always Have You
To Love You

Enough stuff to filll up disc 2!

Marrying a Brit and living in London certainly helped. They saw her non-stop. After her divorce, and her move back to New York City, it seems like they turned on her.

Strong rumours about Madonna being a guest at next week Sanremo Festival in Italy. The last time she went there was with Frozen. I still believe it’s not going to happen since she has nothing to promote (the shows in Milan are sold out) but who knows.

What tracks are you referring to?

In other news, er, rumors…

I hope Bedtime Stories is not the first reissue. It's a great sounding album, but I don't find it all that engaging compared to some of her other efforts and it's leagues behind her other 90s albums. It feels kind of unbalanced because there are a few really forward thinking and unique tracks housed in a record that's mostly pretty standard sounding pop/R&B music.

So Kevin Antunes posting this on Instagram and talk about a surprise performance by a female fan favorite who is not nominated this year does make my spidey sense tingle just a little:
