I don’t feel up to opening this can of worms in the Kylie thread so I’ll say it here. As a big fan of both women I’m truly happy that Kylie is getting her flowers thanks to Padam Padam but the way annoying cigs can’t uplift her without having to throw digs at Madonna for seemingly no reason is draining.

Also, people will be mad at me for saying this and not pretending they're equal, but no matter how much the stans throw shots at her, Kylie's simply not in her league and some of the latter's fans are forever mad about it. To me, Madonna's peers are Prince, Michael, etc. Not Kylie.

Madonna is always picked on by stans because she's seen as someone who has never struggled, which, like... I get, but it's annoying for sure.
Anyway, I adore both. I feel like they've always complimented each other very well as light and dark foils.

It’s more so on Twitter than here, Little Monsters are also fueling the fire by posting clips of her praising Gaga and saying how she embraced her when she first blew up compared to Madonna… even though Madge and Gags buried the hatchet years ago.
This is how I feel too, like I’ve never agreed with how some Madonna stans dismiss Kylie’s music and artistry because she never pushed the same boundaries Madonna did, but both have expansive and diverse bodies of work that should be celebrated as some of pop’s finest. At the end of the day stans just need to be misogynistic.

This was super interesting, also gave a lot more context than I've ever previously heard about Body of Evidence being one of the most extreme NC-17 films at the time.
I'd love to know what Madonna was thinking making this? Aside from the script being awful and the overall Basic Instinct reductiveness, was she really just strategising for this to be the last piece in the whole Sex multimedia takeover or did she actually think this would turn out good?
The director had previously made a pretty transgressive and well received film (Last Exit to Brooklyn) so I think the intention was to make a legitimately good movie and not like, Showgirls (which is still good but knowingly campy and over the top).

It seems that MDNA is being reissued on vinyl in July.
I can finally buy this without having to spend $100 plus! Thank god, since I was only getting it for completion’s sake.
It's MDNA and Hard Candy that are missing from my vinyl album collection so this is great news. That artwork must look fantastic on 12x12" too. Yayyyy!

For all of the album's faults, the MDNA cover definitely evokes some heavy nostalgia. My music consumption and faggotry both being at an all-time high... the good old days!
The cover, the title and Masterpiece are the only redeeming qualities for me
MDNA looks great on vinyl, I bought it at the time and it is now safely stored in the recent hologram sleeve.
This is the most difficult of her studio albums to get on vinyl so a re-issue makes perfect sense.
As for her Warner albums, they are all easy to come by except Hard Candy, which has never been re-pressed. I only have a sealed copy of it so I would love to another copy to play. I´m sure Warner will re-release it on vinyl at some point, at the very least when the album gets it´s deluxe treatment. That is of course if these deluxe editions will ever happen!
