Madonna

I would love Madonna to do something unique and on her own terms. She doesn't want to compromise and I love it when she's in that mode.

Having said that, I would love a curated exhibit like Bowie had. One of the best experiences I had in a museum. Just the idea of touring multiple floors of Madonna memorabilia is overwhelming and exhilarating. Scraps of writing of songs/demos, costumes from the various tours and films, film clips, concert clips, a room dedicated to her videos, a room dedicated to the Sex book, a room of the early '80s and Basquiat and Keith Haring, gold records, platinum records, Grammys, Golden Globes, AMFAR, the Secret Revolution. I want it all.
This is sonething she said she wanted to do back in 2005.
From her Vogue Interview:

Madonna’s interest in her clothes and her costumes over the years is perhaps more curatorial these days. A team of experts is working on cataloging and conserving the extensive collection, currently stored in an L.A. warehouse. “I’ve kept everything,” says Madonna. “The ‘Like a Virgin’ dress. Pieces that Gaultier had made from the Blonde Ambition tour. All the costumes from all of my shows, all the dancers’ costumes, everyone’s costumes.” She has ruthlessly destroyed all the duplicate and triplicate costumes (“Because we didn’t want anything to end up on the internet. When you don’t want anyone else to have it… you burn it”). “My goal is a traveling exhibit, like the Jackie Kennedy show,” she says. “Not just costumes but video imagery and film and interviews and concert footage, so it’s a multimedia kind of journey that you go on.”

Been binging her interviews around the Something to Remember and Evita periods and she really was so on it and articulate in each interview at this time. She also looked fantastic.

Madonna's mid 90s styling was so beautiful. This shoot especially so:

In Bed With Madonna feels very exclusive Ruby Wax interview. Truth or Dare is such an iconic title.
When Ruby Wax tells her in that interview that she can kiss that flat stomach goodbye if she ever has a baby, she becomes just another person who underestimated Madonna.

No but seriously, that's one of the best, most interesting Madonna interviews, and it's a shame that Ruby is so convinced it was damaging to her career or something.

10 years ago today the Avicii demos of Rebel Heart and Wash All Over Me leaked! I had a lot of other significant life things happen that day so the memory is a very strong one.
That was a MOMENT. I remember getting late-night hot chocolate with friends and then hanging out at a playground a few nights after the leaks. Swinging super high on that swing with the Wash All Over Me demo blasting in my headphones. Whew, someone resuscitate me.

A part from Rebel heart, all the other tracks are so much better in their final version than in the Avicii one. Why is everyone so nostalgic for those basic demos?
