Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk

Every song on the new ep is amazing, no skips. I'm probably reaching but this ep reminds me a bit of Danganronpa 2 soundtrack, they have a similar vibe. I mean, both Mica and Matthew are gamers so it's not impossible.

Finally taking in the new mini mix. The way they excel at just about every genre really needs to be studied but Slug Song only solidifies my opinion that they're especially good at creating nostalgic, 80s Hall & Oates-style pop (see also: Money Lover, Killshot)

I think 'Top Dog' is one of their best! While I love everything on here, I can also see Mini Mix 3 doesn't reinvent the wheel but it feels like a great cap to the last era nonetheless.

It feels like they have a pretty clean slate to do some big things in the next album era.

they are so consistently fantastic.

but i gotta say....i saw them open for caroline polachek, and i wasn't feeling their live setup. it's kind of a hot mess, esp compared to how polished and glossy their sound is. but maybe it's just me!

It was giving high school talent show and I mean that in the best possible way nn. I would've been more impressed if they weren't playing the music videos behind them and those were all shot for their live show but yeah... Mica's vocals were cranked down super low.
