Just caught up again with everything. I Wanna Be With You is a very worthy winner indeed. It's funny in a way that song won, but the album only received one vote (from me) in the poll at the top of the page. I guess thinking about it, it being #1 makes sense in that it's a great song from the pure pop phase of Mandy's career but would not sound too out of place in the alternative phase of her career.
I never realised until fairly recently too that the version on the Center Stage soundtrack is different from the album version.
@pop3blow2 you've done such an amazing job at the rate. It's been such a positive and nostalgic journey. I used to be a massive Mandy fan in the 90s/00s but looking over my last.fm data (from late 2005 onwards), I realised I had been neglecting her quite a lot. With the help of this rate (and the new music) that has now been rectified. Mandy was my second most played artist of 2019 and When I Wasn't Watching was my second most played song of the year, with Wild Hope being my second most played album! Mandy is now my 14th most played artist since 2005, whereas before 2019 she wasn't even top 50 (ashamedly).
The rate came at the perfect time with the new songs being released and it definitely helped me get into them quicker because I was in such as Mandy place. I wonder how the new songs (and the rest of the album once it's out) would fit in amongst the other songs we rated. For me, When I Wasn't Watching should be top 5, I'd Rather Lose top 20 and Save a Little top 30.
Like I said in my previous post too, I started watching This Is Us finally in 2019, and am really enjoying it. Thanks for bringing Mandy back into my life!
