THIS WAS WHAT I WAS THINKING ALL ALONG BUT DARE NOT verbalise in case the plot for those two characters goes all the way dark.
Discovering that John Ross is married to Sara Barellis. . . Getting that Broadway coin, lead in a Tina Fey show and the good D. Queen Barellis stays winning.
They aren't married, but yeah -- they met because he was in Waitress when she did her guest stint in the show. I think they've been dating since like ... 2018? I was kinda gooped when I found out. Especially since she is responsible for taking these two photos:
The writing in the last episode was noticeably shoddier but what a series. Julianne Nicholson broke my heart. I'm all for one-season shows but since seeing someone say this could become a Prime Suspect type gig for Winslet... Here for it.
I enjoyed the finale, but was there a gaping plot hole? Did I I miss something? Spoiler If the kid got the gun and put it back in the garden shed the same night, how did the old guy know that it had gone missing?
I completely agree. Kate’s acting just pulled me right out and I moved on but it’s strange they didn’t flesh that one out better.
Spoiler Doesn't he mention hearing the noise in the shed and going to check it out? I suppose he could’ve heard the kid taking it, checked the shed and saw the gun missing, then noticed it was back days later. But yeah a girl getting shot the same day your gun goes missing probably should’ve raised a few alarm bells, regardless.
When did he set up the security system? It was after the first episode right? I don't even remember properly.
Kate and Julianne were phenomenal in that final episode and even though she was underused, Jean still managed to get a good solid tear out of me.
Jean Smart being cast just for pratfalls and fruit ninja was even worse than Guy Pearce’s role but she was a delight as usual.
I know I'm late, but I just finished the first two episodes and I am positively riveted ladies. Surely Kate is going to take home every award for this as well, no?
Jean Smart was underused but she probably had the most pivotal line in the series. That Mare needs to forgive herself about Kevin. It was the catalyst for the ending.
Kate was excellent but as contenders in her category I'd have her behind both Michaela Coel and Thuso Mbedu. Presumably "Anya Taylor Joy" or whomever takes it.
