GIRL definitely aged better than I initially expected and plays well as a whole, even if I don’t return to it as often as the debut. I have a lot of goodwill for her so I’m looking forward to this.

  4. It feels closer to Hero which I'm all for.

  5. I love the lyrics. It doesn't sound like a hit right out of the gate, but it's still very good.

  6. Oh fuck yes. The production hits and she sounds great.

Instantly better than Girl's title track, it's so good to have her back!

  9. Sounds like a huge hit to me.

  10. I’m sure this will be number one in 2023.

  11. This is very HERO leaning to me, and I am living for it. Welcome back queen

  12. Yep, definitely more in the Hero vein. Those crunch acoustic guitars, her confidently bouncing over the melody, and the chorus soars. At first the referential lyrics threw me but it's a well deserved victory lap after the last two records. I'm so excited to hear more!

  13. I like it, but I'm not instantly in love like I was with everything off Hero. But I think it's a good precursor for what's to come and I can't wait to hear more.

  14. GIRL… the pleasantness

Hooked on this now. The 80's Mercedes and My Church shoutouts are chef's kiss.
