Mariah Carey

In 1995, I got my first ever CD player for Christmas and with it 3 CDs:
Janet/Design of a Decade, Ace of Base/The Bridge... and Mariah/Daydream.

I loved Fantasy which is why I asked for Daydream as a present. I still remember listening to Always Be My Baby for the first time on my bed and playing it over and over, but I wasn't an official lamb yet.

I wasn't obsessed with Mariah until Butterfly came out. I became so unbearable at school with how much I talked about Mariah at that time. Christmas 1997, I got the rest of her albums and I've been a lamb ever since.
That’s a great selection of albums, Christmas 1995 must’ve been a good one, 1997 too!
Funnily I asked for the Daydream album for Christmas 1998, because I loved Fantasy so much and I was so disappointed when I discovered #1s did not feature the amazing album / single version… but instead the Bad Boy Remix…
So Daydream was my first Mariah studio album and I loved it, I think that has a lot to do with why I love that album so much.
Also Always Be My Better is such a wonderful song, I’ve come back to it a lot recently.

When You Believe was my first single as a fully fledged Mariah fan, so I loved it.
#1s had just come out and it was my first album I owned by her, I played that song on repeat A LOT, and the music video was on the music channels regularly so I watched it a lot.
Every December I usually get all nostalgic for that period of my life in 1998, so I’ll find myself listening to it a lot again.
My favourite part of the #1's era? Has to be this:

Still one of my favourite ever music video releases. Love the interview snippets track by track too.

Tried to put this I Stay In Love / Stay In Love mashup on Soundcloud but they pulled it immediately, so I put it on Audius:

Thank you! I needed this today!

As in, I put the elements together and arranged them, yes - the instrumental is this (slightly edited) and I filtered the Ralphi's Bar Mix and Jody Den Broeder House Mix of I Stay In Love using a stem splitting program to get the vocals. It's an idea I'd had for...probably a decade?

It's really good, nice work!

...make the Walking On Sunshine/Bidi Bidi Bom Bom mashup I've had in my head for years a reality.
