The video is out on Australian iTunes.
Is it good? Please say yes
The song is very much a continuation of Love + Fear and reminds me of To Be Human on first listen.
Listening to To Be Human again now, and I'm a little off with that initial reaction, haha.
But it's definitely cut from the same cloth has Love + Fear which will be unfortunate news for many of us.
I mean the snippet and that damn chords said that as much too.
I find it much more FROOT-like than Love+Fear? I think the instrumentation makes the difference.
I'm ready girls!
This is not L + F at all to my ears. It’s traditionally plinky-plonk Marina and the instrumental puts this more into Family Jewels/Froot territory.
I’m not totally sure on the post/second chorus but love the rest of it. The first verse is gorgeous, the second verse sounds just as clumsy as it reads.
Yeah this definitely leans away from the watered down production of her recent album, which is absolutely a positive thing.
It's about to premier.
Me waiting for a video premiere from....Marina.
I'm a strawberry soda too.
It's okay... the sonic direction is encouraging.
I don't hate it!
It's..... meh, but indeed a much needed improvement from Love + Fear so let's celebrate that.
I really like it. Maybe it starts out stronger than it ends - the falsetto post-chorus is definitely the weakest part. The verses are great, love the instrumentation under the second verse with the guitar riffs. I would've taken a 3x verse-chorus structure.
I'd say it sounds straight out of The Family Jewels with bits of Froot. The lyrics are... clunky and there are bits that just... don't fit? It feels like the chorus starts out of time. Like "Mother nature's dying and no one's keeping score" just... doesn't fit at all (??).
But it's interesting and better than Lose + Fear. Bring on the album.
That verse is horrific.
