I honestly think Marina's dramatic 'disappearance' was just her way of closing an era to prepare for the next one. Like when she killed off Electra Heart by having the newspaper cutting of Electra Heart committing suicide and leaving everything in her will to her minature poodle.

Doesn't FROOT feel ancient though? I never say that, especially only a year out from the previous album. It just feels like she should have something out sooner rather than later.

I don't know. I really like FROOT, and it's probably her "best" album. It's not my favorite of hers though.

I want so much more of what FROOT had to offer. The Family Jewels came out when I was 17 and was the perfect soundtrack to that time and FROOT felt just as pertinent to what I was going as a 23 year old. We need more artists who are willing to make pop for adults.
