  1. You would find weird describing a new Madonna record as a "comeback album", unless you're Parisian hip hop and electro producer DJ Mehdi.

"I can’t wait to see N*Sync and the Backstreet Boys getting back together. Oh, and A-Trak producing Madonna’s comeback album," Mehdi told Dummy magazine's Adam Saville who asked him what he was excited about music-wise for the new decade.

DJ Mehdi is the second French producer rumoured to be involved in Madonna's first music release under the Live Nation contract. The 32 year old joins David Guetta who, as reported one month ago, told Digital Spy:

"I would love to work with Madonna. It will probably happen very soon actually. It's all in the early stages and I'm not allowed to speak about it yet."

    Backstreet Boys are together

  3. Re: Madonna New Album 2010

well, it could be a comeback album if one considers Hard Candy a flop, but when nowadays most albums sell 4 million, I'd say its 3.8 million copies sold are pretty good.
That being said, it will be a comeback for the fans because HC was pretty much unimpressive and substandard.
Hopefully, this new album will be epic!
How do you know it will be released in 2010??

  4. Re: Madonna New Album 2010

    David Guetta? Yeah...no.

  5. Re: Madonna New Album 2010

Excitinggg. I don't know how much longer I can wait for new Madonna...I'm watching the Confessions Tour and ignoring the "Madonna's the worst popstar" and "Madonna's lazy" bullshit because the truth is, other than Gaga, there's really no one else out there that can stir excitement like Madge can. With the exception of Rihanna videos, I'm bored with pop music...and I say that as a pop lover. Madonna, make haste!

  6. Re: Madonna New Album 2010

True, but in a way it's good to see this happen. I'm glad these stars have space to shine.

  7. Re: Madonna New Album 2010

Well Madonna is only gonna be a threat to other artists with her first single and the album release. After that the era will be over.

I agree with that fully with the inclusion of the whole of Rihanna's Rated R era.
    Really? What about the tour?

    It's too soon

  10. Re: Madonna New Album 2010

Slightly off topic, but I think DJ Mehdi may have a long wait on his hands. If Justin isn't of a mind to make his own album right now, I doubt returning to NSYNC figures high on his to-do list either.

I'll echo what's been said in previous Madonna threads - I don't care what producers she works with, as long as she either writes some decent songs or hires someone who can.

Hard Candy was just crap so hopefully she comes back with something new and exciting this time! Madonna is meant to start trends, not follow them!

  12. Re: Madonna New Album 2010

I don't want anything new, I want remastered and expanded comprehensive reissues of her pre-2000 albums with sought-after extra tracks and other bits tacked on. Now that she's parted ways with Warner it's the perfect time for RHINO to take over (Rhino's a Warner company who specialises in deluxe reissues and the like). Also something else I'd like to see is a 7" box collection like the one The Smiths had in 2008 with all her 7"s reissued in replica covers (Rhino also did that).

Ha, so true.  "Right, I'll release this single to radio in the US, and this one download only in France, and this one as a 2-track CD single in the UK and a 9-track Maxi CD everywhere else, I'll have different photographers for all artwork, change the fonts, and not make any videos.  And then go on tour and only perform 30% of the new album. And do Like A Virgin against a video projection of Lourdes kissing God."

I hope it's similar to Celebration (the song)

  15. Re: Madonna New Album 2010

I like the idea of more French house from Madge, certainly more so than any M-Dolla tripe.

Admittedly, Guetta can be hit and miss, but I'm excited by the prospect of A-Trax being involved. Would love her to call up Daft Punk and get Mirwais back on board.

    Did I miss something?

  17. Re: Madonna New Album 2010

    AHAHAHAHA. Amazing.

  18. Re: Madonna New Album 2010

I hate how the term 'comeback' is being tossed around these days. This is hardly a fucking 'comeback.' Madge hasn't been anywhere!
