Megan Thee Stallion - “Whenever” + General Discussion

She can’t score a smash smash with her label situation. Yeah she has major backing but it’s never as strong as when you’re actually signed to a major when it comes to working songs on radio and playlisting.

I agree; I think she said she is contemplating signing to a major label again, everything just needs to feel right. 300/1501 wasn't equipped to handle someone of her caliber, so hopefully the next era can make a big splash.

I don't understand why they cut her set short? Was she late? During her biggest song right now too.

Her performance was amazing though, I was gagged with each guest she brought on.

I love that she brought Queen Latifah out. It's incredibly weird that they cut her set off, though.

I hope she has big plans for her next album (and that it isn't MEGAN: Act III, but something entirely new). I feel like Part II kind of landed with a thud and didn't get any real attention, so it's probably best to just move on and start fresh, especially now that there's been some distance from the project. There were definitely singles on the album that deserved better (Bigger in Texas sitting at 20M streams is just disrespectful), but overall the album felt a bit too much like more of the same.

EDIT: Well, I just scrolled up and saw that she's still releasing Act III. I don't know if it's the best move from a strategy perspective, but I'm still excited to get more new music from her soon.
