Michael Jackson -- Cardiac Arrest

We've just learned Michael Jackson was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Los Angeles ... and we're told it was cardiac arrest and that paramedics administered CPR in the ambulance.

He was picked up at his home around 20 minutes ago -- we're told his mother is on the way to visit him.

UPDATE: The 911 call came in at 12:21PM at his Holmby Hills home in L.A.

UPDATE: A Jackson family member tells TMZ Michael is in "really bad shape" and the brothers are headed to UCLA.

I thought his O2 dates were coming up quickly, sorry to be cynical but it couldn't all just be put on could it?

Considering the story only broke several minutes ago, I couldn't actually find a proper news report anywhere. Thanks for that though. Much appreciated.

It's in the back of all of our minds I'm sure. Part of me wants to start pondering if he'll reschedule or cancel the thing altogether but no one knows how serious this is or even if he'll make it at this point. I guess tour rehearsals were far too strenuous for him.

I just googled this and got a result that said, 'Michael Jackson died of a heart attack Thursday in London'. And then after a brief moment of panic saw that the article was actually dated 2007 and refers to an English writer called Michael Jackson.

Only TMZ is reporting this so far. I'm not seeing it yet on any legit news feeds, but then again they're covering the Farrah Fawcett story.

Doubt the hospital would agree to that! Maybe he was pushing it too hard, trying to dance like he did when he was young and fit?

It's literally only just happened so I imagine everyone is writing their stories as we speak. It was just on LBC radio news.

I'd forgotten about the skin cancer thing, I hope for his sake it is just poor reporting on behalf of TMZ and isn't true.

I'll never forget that Michael Jackson superfan who was on GMTV the morning the tour was announced. He said this tour was never going to happen. Looks like he was right...
