That film is pretty much my entire childhood. According to my mum I used to watch it at least once every day and would mouth along to every word.

I wouldn't expect any "new" developments or information for a few hours now, just the same comments over and over. Anyway, got to be out the door for work in eight hours, so I have to get some sleep.

Ridiculous and insensitive it may be, I couldn't help but stifle a laugh. I then felt really bad.

I will not go to ET then to see the horrible pictures. Apart of me still didn't believe it until CNN confirmed it. Even though I am not a fan of Michael Jackson, him and Madonna seem invincible. I could never imagine them dying up until today.
I hate to be cliche and not like someone and then they die and I only say good things but I really do respect all he did for music and like I mentioned before he influenced artist that I absolutely love.

I told the guy who linked me to the picture that it was disgusting and I wish he'd never shown me. Some of the comments that followed:

The game was horrid if I remember correctly, but I have an urge to play it again now.
Now playing Off the Wall after a bit with his "greatest hits". I'm thinking I won't be catching much sleep tonight... :-(

Aside from the 'wow someone really famous is dead' factor, I don't really have a personal interest in Jacko's death, but his musical legacy can't be denied and the fact that a creative light, however dimmed by controversies and speculation, has gone out is very sad indeed.

Damn y'all I almost have no words about this. RIP Michael. He broke so many barriers. When I was young and livin' in the US, he was someone we all loved. He was out there doin' it, makin' changes and lookin' like us! And the talent? Too much! Damn, this is Michael Jackson, I can't get round this y'all.
I saw a show on one of the cable channels a few weeks ago 'bout some of his obsessive fans. I worry for them tonight. Be no shock to me if there were suicides over this cos they were fierce loyal.

Not to rehash every detail of this whole thing... but why/how was the coroner's office allowed to confirm he was dead prior to a statement from the hospital (which indicates that they had already talked with the family) - which hasn't happened yet? I guess there are probably different rules about it, but it still seems wrong.

Why do we need to see the ambulance arriving at his house? And pictures of him being wheeled out?
This is all just reminding me of how disgusted I was last year when pictures of Britney strapped to a gurney and being wheeled in to an ambulance came out. There is no need. These pictures are incredibly insensitive and downright unnecessary. Something needs to be done about this sort of thing, it's getting out of hand.
