Re: Michael Jackson dies aged 50
If I'm being completely honest with myself, I have to say that even though I find the news shocking and saddening, I had sort of passed on his career starting with the Bad album. Although I loved Thriller, by the time Bad came out, my musical tastes were leaning more toward the SAW sound and away from him (though I Just Can't Stop Loving You is great). Guess I always preferred Disco Michael to Pop Michael.
That said, I'm currently at my work desk listening to the Jacksons' "Victory" cd. I must be the only person on the planet to have loved that album. When I bought the 45 to "State Of Shock" in 1984 I think I played it non-stop for a week. One of my top 3 Michael tracks. A forgotten classic.
