I'm really liking this album, I bought it after seeing a lot of great reviews of it on here. Coffee, Hollywood Dreams and Leaves are my standouts, I love them. Thank you Popjustice.
He just performed 'Coffee' on Jools Holland and I couldn't stop cringing. He has great stage presence but sometimes, I think it's best to just stand still and sing. He was doing far too much.
Shoutout to the Grammy Noms for reminding me to listen to this. I died for Kaleidoscope Dream but couldn't get into this when it was released. I think I just needed it to be winter to truly appreciate it. (Even if its still 80 degrees in los angeles)
Hoping he at least gets a win, really enjoyed this album when it was first released. I need to get it back out and put it on rotation again.
There is also a Kacey Musgraves remix. I love it; the song works well countrified and stripped back. It becomes more melancholic and bittersweet.
He's been putting out really good songs, but it all feels so low key for some reason? Like there's zero buzz.
Kaleidoscope Dream and Wildheart are incredible albums so I'm really excited for this one. Album's out on December 1 and he just brought out a new single today. And it's another bop.
Told You So manages to be fun and apocalyptic (I like playing it back to back with Paramore's too). This album is going to be so good. @Mushroom @2014 @Solenciennes think you could change the title of thread to 'Miguel - War & Leisure (Dec 1)' or something?
I love this! Skywalker was fantastic too, and I love the art direction of the album. The verses of Told You So give me a little bit of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
Shockandawe is one of my favourite things he's ever done. The production and his delivery are utterly filthy without the lyrics being explicitly so. It's perfect. If the first three songs are anything to go by, this album is going to be a bopfest. I'm ready.
Kaleidoscope Dream will always be my #1 from him but War & Leisure might give it a run for it's money at this rate. Told You So is so sleek and sexy, what a damn bop.
