Misheard Lyrics

On the theme of Kelly, my friend used to think the lyrics to Miss Independent were:

"What happened to my cinnamon bun?"

instead of "What happened to Miss Independent?"

I've just learned that in Silverene's Pin Me Up the lyric is "There's certainly no Jesus comin' round" rather than "A certain little Jesus comin' round".

Obviously, as I don't speak Russian, singing along to Russian t.A.T.u songs can be problematic! I just invent what I think I hear, like in 220:

"obmotalsya i vperyod"

my version is:

"have my toaster Eva Peron"

I like mine better.

From 'Firework'

Misheard lyric:

You're gonna leave them falling down.

Actual lyric:

You're gonna leave them all in awe.

I don't get it. Hate to stare but you're winning? What does that even mean?

Meaning the guy is so hot that despite her not wanting to stare at him, she can't help herself, thus he is 'winning' in her litlle fight to not stare.

Florence: Rabbit Heart

"When my ass is king and it holds me so tight."

I figured out recently it was Midas.

The first time I heard Bad Romance it was the edited version and I was adamant that she uttered "I'mma frape it baby" (referring to the act of facebook rape) instead of the "I'm a free bit (bitch) baby."

In Who's That Chick, I keep thinking she says "Whoa transexual" in the middle 8. And in Let's Get Ugly, it sounds like they said pre-menstrual at one point,

An oldie, but when I was younger, I used to think Bootylicious from Destiny's Child was:
"I don't think you're ready for this challenge" instead of "for this jelly".

I was shuffling some Kylie songs the other day, and realised that I still hadn't figured out whether she's actually singing

"there's a Dolce Gabbana" in Still Standing

or

"I knew you had to piss in the dark" in Fever.

Turns out she isn't.

The former I could have looked up in the booklet all these years, but the beautiful photoshoot is always so distracting. The latter I could have known to be false, because Kylie is a decent girl who wouldn't even think about singing such words.

(cause I don't think I wanna ... - Still Standing)
(then you, yeah to be so adored - Fever)

I think I still like mine better, though.

In t.A.T.u's White Robe, it sounds like they're saying "In this wardrobe, through the darkness", when really it's "in this white robe, through the darkness".

In Call The Shots, I swear the second half of the chorus sounds like "Just 'cos you're ace in the bed and call the shots now on me"!

I used to think it was "Just 'cause you raced into bed, and called the shots now.."

In Bootylicious....

Thought: "By the looks, I got you shook fucking scared of me"
Really is: "By the looks, I got you shook up and scared of me."

For ages I thought it was "Just cos you're raising the bed". Which isn't that far from the truth! But I always wondered what that meant.

Little Boots - New In Town:

"No I don't have a fanny but I'll show you a real good time"

What you heard is so much more fierce.

I always somehow misheard Alexandra Burke on Broken Heels.

My interpretation:
Boy you know we rock, We control the block, Whatever's going down we just take the biggest cock.

Real lyrics:
Oh, you know we rock, we control the block, Whatever's going down ladies take the biggest CUT.

haha.

In Trip To Your Heart, it sounds like Britney says:

"Trip to your dog, trip to your heart" in the middle 8. I have no idea what it really is!
