Music Not on Streaming (And Getting It There!)

Slightly away from new on streaming (though I guess YouTube is streaming), some of you might know I run a club night in London focused on the period of 1995-2004 which in turns informs a fair bit of the stuff I try and get on streaming.

I’ve recreated some old setlists and popped them on YouTube and for visuals, use the chart runs images I sometimes use for the night. Very much something for the background but if you want some retro listening with some hidden gems… (the first hour is the Bargain Bin of flops which for simplicity is stuff that didn’t trouble the Top 20)

When and where do you hold these club nights? I live in London and be good to come down and party one night!

These are great, thanks! Very enjoyable, and the chart info is interesting too - e.g. I'm surprised that Mike & The Mechanics' "Over My Shoulder" (1995) only reached No. 12. I might be misremembering but I'm sure Capital FM used to play it all the time, so I always imagined it reached Top 5.

Yeah it was a huge radio hit - reached #2 on airplay

I thought he'd only done the one album and gave up when it flopped, but seems he tried coming back later on. His voice on One More Chance wasn't very good.

Dang the 1995 one has been blocked because YouTube thought the tribute version of Saint Etienne was the actual version and PIAS rejected my copyright dispute saying it wasn’t the actual Saint Etienne version (I even gave a link to the tribute version)!

He sounds awful, his brother Enrique definitely got the talent.

Plus the Junior Vasquez remix seems to be a ballad which is outrageous.

A Poptastic morning indeed! Also that Tinman song just hit me in the face with nostalgia! It was one of the first songs I remember hearing on the Radio when I was just 2 years old.
