Music Unavailable on Digital (and Getting It There!)

I’ve randomly discovered today that SWEET 7 is finally available in full on Spotify in the USA.

Still no CHANGE album, but we‘ve had About You Now and Denial through random compilations, and now we have Change the song:

Oh this is a very new addition, as I've been checking often if it's available. Looks like a ton of singles/EPs are also up

I'm always so disappointed when I play Sophie's Trip the Light Fantastic on Spotify and realise Can't Have It All is excluded.

The regular version of New Tomorrow by A Friend In London has been taken off Spotify. There's now just a crappy remix of it from 2012 that makes it sound like a Basshunter song!

Has anyone asked into the chances of getting Melanie C's Reason singles back up digitally? I much prefer the single version of "On the Horizon".
There are shed loads of Universal Music owned digital releases from 2002-6 that have come offline and I’ve never been able to get a straight answer on why. Some of them (like AllSTARS, Jaimeson and Monaco’s albums) have been reinstated when I’ve asked. Others Nada.

Without knowing the detail on all of them, is it a possibility the masters went up in smoke?

It's just frustrating that some slipped off but not all, isn't it? Leaving some artists single b-sides, mix and radio edit availability as sketchy as Kylie's Parlophone era.
