My Dad Wrote a Porno - Podcast

I'm on season 3 and they really have hit their stride.

In addition to the ridiculousness of the main book series itself (blue semen, "my aunt has harpies", the numerous cliffhangers, the blatant knock off of real life places and products), the footnote episodes are also wonderful.

All the celebrity guests have had a genuine interest (Michael Sheen in particular) and it's heartwarming that they have dinner before recording the episode. I am also enjoying the musical songs Alice and James have composed on the spot ("He's got a monster dick, he's got a monster prick"). Can't wait for the Lin Manuel Miranda and Emma Thompson episodes.

They are visiting Seattle in June and thinking I should get a ticket for the show! I'll be going by myself though...

 

^ I've been to see them twice by myself! You're in a room full of people who love it, it won't matter that you've booked on your own.

 

"Steak! Ass! and Tits! STEAKASSANDTITS!" is such an underrated musical moment from the podcast. I still think about it regularly.

Where abouts are you in Book 3? Let me know when you get to Chapter 10 because it's my very favourite chapter of the entire series and features some glorious Rocky-isms.

 

An early moment that continues to stick with me is Alice's delivery of "he's got ants"

I passively listened to S3E10 (Ken Dewbury's Cellar) through to S3E12 (Butch the Sunburnt Kid) and will need to relisten again for full effect of the ridiculousness. But here were my observations.

• Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and dinnerladies (!) being used as the benchmark for good sex scenes.
• THRUST
• "Looked into her understanding"
• THRUST
• Asking for work experience during sex with a first timer.
• THRUST
• First penetration of the day.

 

• “Belinda locked her legs around the table legs and held on for grim death”.
• “He put his nervous cock into pinky”.
• “Good god, she’s come t’meeting bareback!”

The run from Belinda driving The Duchess around Epsom through the end of Book 3 is a comedy masterclass. I still regularly cackle at Belinda hurling a naked The Duchess on to the gravel in a state of post orgasmic delirium and then speeding off.

 

Just got to the end of season 3. The genuine excitement and suspense of who is The Chosen One!

I love how the gang are not letting go of Hazel delivering just the supplements of the Sunday Guardian on a Friday/Saturday, in her WWII fighter plane, whilst providing transport for Giselle's hen party.

 

Last night’s Amsterdam show was absolutely hilarious, oh my Lord. There was no time to catch your breath, it was just one joke and/or zinger after the other.

 

Slightly off topic, but I started watching the documentary series, "Sex Actually with Alice Levine"

It's very insightful and informative, but Alice's reactions and general awkwardness are also very amusing and endearing. I would love to see the podcasts be turned into video form as I imagine many of the reactions will be the same if not exacerbated.

Just finished Book 5. What a clit-hanger!

I was skeptical that since this was written post podcast premiere, that Rocky would have jumped the shark even more (and got better at writing). But it's still as batshit as ever.

I’ve been reading Belinda Blinked: Lockdown 69 with my fiancée and my best friend (me in the Jamie roll) and it’s….. baffling, even for Rocky. Only read the first four chapters but wow.

 

Do you do Jamie's Bella and Bisch's voice? He really brings them to life...
