Ballerina was released as a standalone digital single on October 23, 2013, a week after Neonlight Lipstick. It was later included as a B-side on Namie's 41st single, TSUKI. It was written by Cait La Dee, who also wrote Space Invader for _genic with Gennessee Lewis who is credited on both. Wolfgang Gartner is also credited as the song samples his beat Fire Power. The song was used to promote Namie's collaboration with Gucci & Vogue Japan that included commercials, displays & magazine coverage. A wax figure of Namie was put on display at Gucci in Aoyama wearing one of the outfits from the campaign & music video. It was also used as a commercial song for Recochoku. It charted at #25 on the Japan Hot 100.

I didn't quite get it at first because it's not mainstream like at all. But damn is it good, even if all the electronic noises do come off a bit noisy in some ways. Kneehigh Girl needs an extended mix, "Loud and aggressive. Not what I had in mind when I first saw the title. lovlands could also do with an extension, "I feel like people dislike this but this is one of Namie's best bops. And that drop is INSANE, I wish they extended the sample and made it longer like in the end but at each drop." RUNAWAY is living, "this song is so fucking weird but I LOVE IT. that demented production is EVERYTHING." Remember how I said _hazzie_'s Neonlight Lipstick commentary would make more sense later, "pop stomper". Vague isn't a fan, "i was perched for this when the clip that first got released in w/e CM this was for came out, but the whole song doesn't really work for me, unfortunately. i don't hate it, but i don't really like it either. i always think iTunes or w/e is fucking up when i listen to it ddd." And neither is Cutlery, "I audibly gagged when I first listened and immediately noticed this was Wolfgang Gartner's Fire Power remixed, shortened and years later given for her to use. Honestly? I loved the instrumental track for a good chunk of 2012, but I have to admit it doesn’t bode as well in 2019. Miss Amuro gives me mixed feelings on it too. Like the verses and drop work well but the actual chorus, the screams and those offbeat whispery “Ayu ready? Cos I’m ready”s, drag it down."

Hun, we're in Top20 and some songs have to go. I mean, I basically love everything Namie has ever done, so going for the hyperbole that the songs I like less than others should go next is "the worst post" is a bit much.
