Natalie Imbruglia

It felt like at times it was a poor take on Alanis, lyrically not bad but without the real angst and conviction needed to sell it. It was all a bit muddled and trying too hard in some areas.
Natalie came into her own though. I don't like her as this alt-angry-rockster. She radiates too much joy for that. (Not that Alanis isn't joyous too, but anyway)

Left of the Middle is her least consistent album after Male teebs. That's what happens when you have an iconic discography tho.

Sorry if this has been addressed before, but are there any songs that are missing from this list that were recorded by Natalie but didn't make it onto an album? I know All The Magic and 2000 Miles aren't on this list, and neither is Apologise (which was originally recorded for Come To Life but ended up being released by the writer's band Ben's Brother as a single in 2009), but is there anything else (apart from remixes and acoustic versions of existing songs)?

Also, which of her singles have different single mixes/edits from their album versions? I can think of Instant Crush and Beauty On The Fire, but I don't know if that happened with any other singles.

The radio / single mixes are on my compilation list. Shame Scars didn’t get the release it deserved as that would have been another one for the list.

Also, there is a radio edit of Want which is 3:44, I’ve not been able to get hold of this, it was released on the promo CDs according to Discogs.

I've finally sorted my B-Sides and Rarities collection for Natalie, but YouTube>mp3 is such a chore - and I've had to do it all twice as iTunes Match somehow corrupted all the files when I did it a few months ago and I didn't notice and deleted the local files. I hope she sorts her streaming out at some point as Flirting and Sometimes are no where to be found anymore - Was Sometimes really just on some random Greatest Hits CD? If anyone can point me in the right direction of those...

I only have the “Album Version” (aka the 3:34 Edit) from this promo, didn’t realize there was a version that had an additional 10 seconds.

Honestly found this edit to be the perfect version but if those extra 10 seconds are in the intro I wouldn’t complain.

Chilling to White Lilies Island today.

I still remember the long wait for this album and it being nothing like I imagined it was going to be. Now its 20 years old this year and I love everything about it.

Satellite, Do You Love, Everything Goes, Goodbye and Hurricane are such gems.

Sunlight would've been a good single.

White Lillies Island is my favourite album of hers and I agree Wrong Impression is the most radio friendly song on the album, I’m surprised they didn’t go with it first, That Day is loud, chaotic, dark, I love it but looking back it was a choice to release as a lead single. Sunlight did the “indie rock” sound better for me, in fact, I’m surprised that wasn’t a single.

What I love the most, is Butterfly is such a beautiful album closing moment, but then Come September comes and that’s the perfect heart melting album closer, what a moment.

I just saw that “That Day” charted higher than “Beauty on the Fire” in the UK? What? I like “That Day” but it’s not as great as “Beauty on the Fire”.

“That Day” always seemed more of a concept single rather than an attempt at a proper hit. Also agree that “Sunlight” should’ve been a single. Take out “That Day” from the singles run and chuck in “Sunlight” as the third single.
