Neighbours - unmissable drama

Kyle and Roxy are going to get a 'goodbye' episode, right? Toadie was speaking as if they'd gone already, but I assume that was a slip up
Yeah I took it to mean (it will be) strange to not have them across the street (once they eventually leave)

right?

I have a question as someone who hasn't really seen the show. Haven't they established children for Charlene and Scott? Are any of them still on the show? In fact, are any of their family members/friends still on the show? I know overseas soaps tend not to recast as much as here in the US and instead introduce new families and I don't know how Neighbours does it.

I think quite a few people from their era are back on the show now. Also, Jason's real-life daughter is in it....playing his character's great-niece!

Always felt a bit irked by Jason constantly telling anyone that would listen that he wouldn’t return without Kylie.

Like he’s on the same level as Kylie and wouldn’t have needed the work at some point over the last three decades. If it’s good enough for your children?

You may be reading more into this than is actually there. He and Kylie are friends; he could just as easily have meant it wouldn't be the same doing the show without her. Besides which, if he returned on his own for a long period it would likely mean that Scott and Charlene had split up, which I'm sure the longtime fans wouldn't love.

Agree on both points. Certainly wouldn’t have wanted him to take on a short or regular contract, but could have had some guest appearances while his onscreen children were on the show.

I seem to remember Stefan Dennis consulted with Alan Dale (who had at that point had several successful stints on US shows) who told him not to turn up his nose to returning, which supposedly lead him to returning in 2005.

They have two children, both of whom have been in the show and left, and I very much doubt either of them will be back this time, which is a shame at least for their son (the less said about the actress who played the daughter the better....)

Charlene's step-father will be back, and I assume they will overlap.

Scott's brother is currently in the show, and Charlene's best friend/bridesmaid, and a couple of others they would have known. There's some other family members but no-one they will have interacted with.

TBH I think the 'I wouldn't return without Kylie' line is a neat way to side-step saying 'No, I don't want to go back' without looking like a dick, since we all know that if the show wasn't ending there is no way she'd be making an appearance.

Madison Robinson is still an icon.

Maybe Alan Dale will return in another bauble.
