Although I don't watch soaps, you sort of assume they're always going to be there in the background, so it's a strange feeling when one of them ends. I can only really compare it to when Brookside got cancelled in 2003, and in that particular case, they'd run the show so far into the ground that nobody really gave a shit by the end (I'm sure the final episode aired in the middle of the night). In this case, while its days as a cultural phenomenon were long behind it, the show still has a nostalgic place in people's hearts and it's good that it was given a proper farewell. I stopped watching years before Margot joined, but considering she's a two time Oscar nominee and the lead in what's already the most talked about film of next year, it was great to see she made an appearance. The best people never forget how they came up.
