  1. Shameless is a completely different beast... a couple of storylines in its first season are slight reruns of the UK’s first series, but it all draws you in, and just gets better and better. It’s really reached some great heights.

I quite liked Aussie show The Letdown.

Basically an HBO type dramedy but in Australia. Great cast. If you liked Togetherness you’ll like this.

  6. It has been mentioned in this thread, but I'm watching and very much enjoying 'Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City'.

It's like Big Brother with absolutely no game elements and they can leave the house for dates and work. It's not super dramatic or super funny, but it's strangely addictive and with 46 episodes there's lots to watch. I guess what makes it work are the parts of 6 Japanese celebrities who give commentary/sley the participants. They are almost always on point.

Perfect to watch right before you go to sleep.

  7. Yessss I was actually going to make a thread on this show, I've been addicted recently. I just love that it's not trashy and it's an easy watch. I just finished one season and I'm onto the Tokyo one now.

  8. Like I mentioned, what's so satisfying is having 6 hosts expressing thoughts/feelings (practically) every viewer must have about the likes of Makoto and Yuriko. That way, it never becomes frustrating to see them do the things they do and say the things they say (no spoilers).

My favourite host is queen You, who also acted in the excellent movies 'Nobody Knows' and 'Still Walking' both by Hirokazu Koreeda.

  9. Oh I love the hosts, l always laugh when they share their comments. You is a total queen.

I'm glad they went in on Yuki the tap dancer during the episode I just watched. For some reason he really annoys me, I think it was from the comment he made about women being in the kitchen on the first episode.

  11. I'm watching Don't Trust The B In Apartment 23 for around the 70th time, it's on UK Netflix if anyone hasn't seen it, it's so funny.

  12. Netflix used to have it in the wrong order. But they’ve now put it in production order rather than the odd order it was aired.

  13. I noticed that too. According to Wikipedia, season 1 is 7 episodes long but Netflix has it at 10 episodes.

  14. I’ve just started The Rain .. 3 eps in I’m kinda liking it

  15. Need something to start watching. All my shows have either ended or finished their current seasons.

Any good recommendations? Preferably something 30-40 mins per episode and not anything that takes a long time to get going.

For me it‘s even worse than The Mist. The whole thing makes absolutely no sense and I want all of the characters dead.

  19. 3 recommendations that I've watched over the past few days:

    - Ali Wong's new special Hard Knock Wife - and it's as good, if not better, than her first one. SO good. Hands down one of the best standup specials available in the catalog.

    - Ingrid Goes West, which may be the best movie I've seen yet that discusses our relationship with social media. I'm not sure if it's on Netflix, but it's on Hulu.

    - If you're into fairytale aesthetics, you'll love Tale of Tales. 3 different tales intertwined. Beautifully creative cinematography, costumes, and sets. It's a solid B/B+.
