Nilüfer Yanya - My Method Actor

The review itself was a bit scattered and weird, too, and I don't really agree with how they frame the album, but oh well.
It’s a weirdly superficial review for such a deep and introspective album. She certainly sounds confident in the sense that she’s an artist at the height of her powers showing off a finely honed talent but the lyrics are certainly not giving coolness and confidence! The retrospective criticism of PAINLESS, albeit mild, is strange too since they really feel like two sides of the same coin - whereas in the former her anxieties are directed at the complicated relationships and strained environments she finds herself in, the latter sees her direct her gaze further inwards. Whatever, I’ll take the Best New Music and run.

I cannot get around this album. I'd say the closest analog to the soundscape is a fever dream, this nebulous feeling of looking for a light that keeps escaping you. It's honestly been a bit of a revelation in that sense: few albums can command this level of attention with such subtlety.

Also I hadn't watched the video since it's billed as a visualizer but she actually libs the full song on this one and she kinda ate

...I just saved her album on Spotify, then I come here and her thread is front page.

Is PopJustice spying on me? Is PopJustice the new Google?
