Nintendo

It's smart to get their money's worth by re-releasing decent Wii U games on the Switch, but as someone who has both devices I'm really just waiting around for what's next.

I fully expect Nintendo will just re-release all Switch games at full price on their next console.

Where the fuck is a Switch port of Xenoblade Chronicles X?

I know the moment I play through it again on my Wii U, they'll announce one, just like when I played through Xenoblade Chronicles and Tokyo Mirage Sessions.

I am so excited for the new Kirby game that's coming, I haven't been this excited for a game in a long time. I love how it looks. I wish it swapped release dates with Pokemon Legends because I'm just mildly excited (mostly hesitant) about that.

I've never played a Kirby game in my life and I've played a lot of Pokemon games so GF really fucked up somewhere along the way to tamper all the pre-release excitement for their games.

Word on the street (aka Twitter, so grain of salt) is that Monolith wanted to port X and Nintendo said no and instead requested Xenoblade Chronicles DE. We know XC3 is in the works sooo... I don't know how likely it is now.

I could see them announcing a XCX remaster and XC3 at the same time. Like a XCX remaster trailer saying it's out in 3 months with a little XC3 tease at the end. I do imagine that XCX probably isn't as in demand and won't sell as well as XC1 or XC2 did, but hopefully they'll still think of it as worth bringing to the Switch.

Those of you who are OCD about the Switch playtime counter like me: Beware when transferring to a new Switch. It basically resets your playtime for games and won’t update until you surpass your previous game time. So, for example, SMTV was at 10 hours when I transferred and I’ve since put in another 10 hours, but it won’t add to my game time until I hit 15 hours on the new Switch.

Like, it’s almost comical how Nintendo manages to mess stuff like this up and just … never fix it.

Is anyone who follow Nintendo's pricing able to say if we should expect a promotion on WarioWare in the future? I'm considering getting it but definitely not at full price (and also if anyone who has it can comment!)

I enjoyed Wario Ware, but certainly not as much as the other games in the series. Obviously the whole gimmick of controlling different characters is fun but some are better than others and I found some just downright frustrating to use. I've not gone back to it much since it came out and I usually do with Wario Ware. If you enjoy the series you'll enjoy it though.

As for a discount, I'm not the closest follower but I don't think any first party Nintendo games get decent discounts within a year of release. The eshop in the UK recently had £10 off Mario Golf so that's probably the best you can hope for.

The Switch Game voucher things are a semi decent deal for new releases. You get a couple of quid back in points and usually can save a fair bit with more expensive titles that never get discounted

I think it may be my favorite WarioWare game outside of Twisted. Very very fun to go through the (admittedly miniscule) campaign with a friend and replay games with different characters. The hefty price tag is the only real drawback.

First-party Nintendo games rarely, if ever, get a decent discount. The eShop is also grossly over priced for Nintendo titles so even if you see a "deal" it's probably still cheaper to get a physical copy.

I'd highly recommend you (and anyone who games on Switch) sign up to Deku Deals. They track the price of all eShop titles and can show you when they're on offer, when they're at historic lows, etc.: https://www.dekudeals.com/items/warioware-get-it-together

Just a guess, but I could see WarioWare getting discounted around Mario day (March 10), I got a couple of Mario games fairly cheap during that period a couple of years ago. Then again not sure if WarioWare actually counts as a Mario game and would get discounted then.

It's the time of year where I can sniff a Direct on the horizon. Could see one in the next few weeks with trailers for Kirby, Triangle Strategy and Advance Wars, with Splatoon 3 getting a nice firm release date as well.

Also was reading earlier that Monolith Soft have just spruced up their website, which likely means nothing but still.
