Nintendo

I'm not sure how it would work but I hope they revive the 3DS in some manner one day. Or that a third party developer finds a way to mimic its mechanics, without falling victim to a cease and desist. It would be a shame to see so much of its incredible library fall into obscurity because of the dual screen.

I pray mine has a couple of good years left in it, there are still so many games that I still want to play.

I enjoyed the Style Boutique games, but wasn't too sure about Fashion Dreamer, mainly because of the whole influencer angle, but after watching this I think I'm pretty much sold

It seems like it's basically the same experience, except you don't run a physical store this time around. It looks great and I love that you can create/play as four different characters (male or female) instead of always sticking to the same one like in the older games too.

The DS was incredible to study Japanese kanji. I used it as much as a learning aid as I used it for games. Also Nintendo's marketing got me good, gal. DS, DSi (or Lite? I don't remember) and the New 3DS. I had to stan.

I remember when the 3DS first came out, people just dismissed it as another DS with a gimmick tacked on (I mean, tea), and they were certain it would flop and the PS Vita would beat it nn
The people who made those predictions were suffering from advanced brainworms. When has power ever predicted the winner in the handheld space?

The Switch is lucky it's getting so many Wii U/3DS (and to a lesser degree Wii and GameCube) ports, otherwise the library would look rather poor, especially compared to the mostly brilliant 3DS library.

Thinking about it, the 3DS is probably my favourite console ever.
Disagree with this. The Switch library is so vast that I definitely don't think it's the ports propping it up. The amount of games is pretty insane for a Nintendo console (or any console). Plus, it houses some of the most standout titles in their respective series: the Zelda games, Mario Odyssey, Three Houses, etc. And then there are plenty of standout third party exclusives like Astral Chain and Octopath Traveler if we're counting console exclusives.

I don’t agree fully with this take but there is an interesting conversation to be had about how the Wii U flopping so hard meant that its games were able to be ported to the Switch that could serve as excellent ‘new’ releases to fill gaps in between proper, new first party Switch releases.

They won’t be able to do that with Switch 2. Though I suspect it to hit the ground running with far greater third party support so it’ll probably balance out.

I thought this was a joke but I checked and it’s real. Fuck you Mario Bros Movie, you’ll pay for this!

It’s so weird too because only the main face changed. The others are still her (current?) game design, and presumably the in-game model won’t be changed either? So like… why did they bother.

EDIT: On closer inspection they made her martial artist expression angry, but it’s still the same game-and-not-movie model. What on earth…
