I.. don't think I'm a fan of Odyssey which kinda sucks since it was the main selling point for me?
It just does not feel very Mario.. or focussed? Go look for your own musicians, Paula

Have you made it far in the game? You'll probably get into I think. Though if you want something more traditional there's a bunch of other options on the Switch, both 3D and 2D, there's a ton of Mario games on the console.

I made it to the Donk City or whatever it's called (though obviously not getting all moons yet on my first run)

Oh I would say that level is the least Mario-y in the game, and also the largest (if I recall correctly). Mario in a big realistic city is a cool idea but personally I didn't care for it that much either. The ones you'll visit after definitely feel more like typical platformer areas, more focused and straightforward despite still having an element of exploration, I think you'll enjoy those more.

Odyssey main game completed (or well, had my first run of credits).
Is there still some sort of second phase to complete next or is it just 'collecting moons wherever you please' from there on (I heard the Princess took her suitcase, but that was about as much info I got on 'what to do next')

Well the main thing is there are three more worlds that only unlock after the credits (one straight away and the other two after you collect a certain number of moons), and there's new stuff in basically every world you've already been to too. I'd say the main "objective" of the game at that point is unlocking the extra worlds, but there's plenty else to do like collecting costumes, stickers, achievements and so on. And moons of course, just be warned that going for all of them is a massive challenge. I'm someone who generally likes to "complete" games, like do all side quests, collect the collectables and so on, but going for all moons seemed too overwhelming even for me.

Alright, the new moons after the ending (or just ones I hadn't noticed before) are more like it!
Does anyone know if the numbered list of moons on each map has any kind of order that also reveals their location (apart from the new moons shown on the map)?

Also: with the snow race, does bouncing all the time actually speed you up? It feels like rolling is faster except for corners?

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is on a 6 day free to play for NSO members. Well, I'd best get started as I absolutely loved the first one and have been waiting on Ubisoft putting it down to a tenner in a sale (I wasn't amused when the first one went that cheap after I paid full whack).

I didn't particularly care for Odyssey either. I kind of want them to go a bit more back to the basics of what makes a Mario adventure so iconic. But then Sunshine remains my favourite aside from 64, so my taste has always been questionable.

So since I’ve finished Wind Waker and am still waiting on my Nintendo 3DS I decided to start up Xenoblade Chronicles X since I want to go through my ever increasing backlog. And honestly, wig at the graphics? The world seems properly huge and it looks beautiful for a near 10 year-old game. But I have to say, the story and world so far seems overwhelming…the battle mechanics so far is not really easy to navigate. I remember feeling really confused by the battle mechanics in both XC 1 and 2 but once I got into them the games were so amazing. But right now it’s not clicking in X. Am I missing something?

Are the controls on Overcooked Switch just a lot more inprecise than the pc ones or did I just lose my groove?

I’m trying it out too, and I weirdly am liking the first game more so far? The free-roaming aspect in Sparks is less fun somehow nn.

My main switch has a swollen battery (I'm told this is dangerous). Can I just "switch" (sorry!) the SD card from that one to my other Switch? Because I don't have enough room to download Rabbids 2 (let's call it that).

I think both are fantastic games. I'd say Sparks of Hope is probably the best one as the gameplay is more varied, the Sparks really add a whole other dimension to the battles.
