WELCOME TO THE ANASTACIA RATE
She is a survivor. She is a vocal powerhouse. She is a chameleon in sounds, genres and languages. But most of all, she is the queen of sprock. Soul to her voice that can evoke emotion when she is not even trying hard. Catchy pop songs that define the zeroes (in Europe). A strut that can champion every electric guitar in her most rock-sounding songs. It was damn time this discography rate would happen. And since I am planning this to be my final rate I want to go out with a massive bang. The woman that opened the pop gates for me. The woman who taught me how it feels to stan an artist. In 2015 @Lost Boy hosted a 29-track singles rate and did a great job at it, which I sadly missed. But I feel like this woman deserves to shine again. So let's rate it all!
In a way to reel as much as voters possible I set the mandatory part at 100 tracks. This by chance are all the songs that featured on album (including bonustracks). Making the remainder of 20 b-sides and orphan songs optional. Make no mistake they barely are filler on this rate as several are live favourites. Several other tracks that are only live renditions but with no studio version are also cut (making the total rate 18 songs shorter). However they will get spotlighted in the weeks before voting is closed. Prepare for me being damn extra. But I went to highlight everything!
Regular rate rules apply. Rate every song from 1 to 10. However one song – your absolute favourite can be awarded with the coveted 11. I am asking you to not troll. People who are not fan of ballads in particular I ask to not be too vicious. Several ballads deal with severe health issues and a father walking away on it’s family. It could be very close to home for some other participants. There is no need to be disrespectful to those songs in commentary, but yeah they can definitely warrant a very low score if you feel like it deserves it. Also, score however you feel like with as much as decimals as you would like. If you feel like a song embodies the score similar to the number Pi – go for it. I love tie-breakers.
Let me shamelessly quote @RainOnFire here for rules about commentary: “In terms of commentary: I would really like this rate to be super fun and I'd like to pump the results out in a timely manner without the need for a long writeup because of commentary. That being said, I don't mind if you want to share the reasoning behind your 11 or your 10s, or if you have a story connected to any other song. I just ask that if you share commentary, it's meaningful. Also as we've seen, the thread moves a lot faster when you post your own comments; just something to keep in mind.”
