Not That Kind of Rate: Anastacia | Finished

So which main album track will be going later this evening?

Is Sexy Single actually preventing It's A Man's World having a song in the bottom 5?

Or if It's A Man's World, which track exactly is it going tonight?

Or is the Not That Kind era about to score a hattrick on this first day of eliminations?

Or, finally, is there some album track from an other album that somehow unexpectedly garnered a lot of low scores?

TODAY IS GONNA BE THE DAY THAT my lowest score gets eliminated PLEASE

I just knew Mi Negra, Tu Bombón was going to be the first elimination. It's just not great, and being the very first song on the playlist makes it really stick out in a bad way.

My biggest loss so far is Someday My Prince Will Come (8). As @Maki mentioned, the trip-hop elements in the production are quite nice and elevate it from being just a standard Disney cover. It really didn't deserve bottom 10, let alone bottom 2.

Maybe Black Hole Sun? Being from It's A Man World and also not on Spotify seems like a deadly combination.

Wonderwall and Back In Black seem like plausible candidates.
No, no, no and no. But the album is correct. I am surprised it is this one though chosen as the worst from the worst.

Yes, I might come over as a lazy artwork maker. But I promise I made more than 60. But for this album I did not want to put in more effort making artwork than Glen Ballard did on producing. This cover from the Led Zeppelin song is a surprising first loss for this album. It is a great opener for this album and sets the tone well. But perhaps some of you see this as the start of something horrible and hate it because of it. Lyrically I love this reference to Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and Anastacia actually made me appreciate this Led Zeppelin track more.

@londonrain has me screaming "This is more Anaesthesia than Anastacia." The shade of it all. @Maki is a fan of the stairway to heaven band "Not as good as the original. I'll leave it at that." Or perhaps not ddd. @livefrommelbs continues on this: "I feel like actually tolerating the original would definitely add to the experience of hearing this song. As it stands, I do not tolerate the original, so this score is actually pretty generous." Let us close with the most positive commentary coming from @berserkboi "There is something positively assertive about this song I really respond to. It’s not groundbreaking in any way yet feels significant?"

We lose 4 album tracks and one optional. Place your bets.

Aww, "Crushin" is so cute and deserved to stay a bit longer. I gave it a 6.5, which was a bit inflated thanks to it being an optional song, but I definitely think there are at least fifteen songs weaker than it, including several tracks from her studio albums and two of her singles. I guess people were just got bored of "Not That Kind" and its never ending streak of bonus tracks/B-sides and weren't keen on it, so it escaping the last three spots as an unreleased song is a tiny achievement.
To put a bit of a context behind the song: It was recorded on July 7th, 1999 and placed on some promo sample cassette (for labels only, I think), along with three songs, all of which were released on "Not That Kind". I remember coming across the tape on eBay, but can't find it now. Eventually, it somehow made its way from the officials to the fans and that's how it surfaced online, sometime in 2014.

And don't worry about initially forgetting about the song, Sprocky, since even Anastacia herself can't recall it exists:

I can imagine her recording this and "Baptize My Soul" in 10 minutes and forgetting about them as soon as she left the studio.

NOT me forgetting completely about the commentary rule and writing commentary for nearly every song dddd.

(In fairness all my commentary is reasonably detailed, so at least it fulfils the “meaningful” criterion.)

I think I totally missed the Manifest the D line, but I'm not gonna play that song again.

Ramble On.. A fat 3! Oop.

Ramble On - 6,25
~ I didn't expect "Ramble On" to be the first cut from that album, either. But it's among my bottom 3 scores from it, so no complaints there. Hopefully "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and "Wonderwall" are the next ones to leave.

But for this album I did not want to put in more effort making artwork than Glen Ballard did on producing.
This delicious shade! The production on the majority of that album sounds like an amateur concert recording from 1995, to be honest.

Crushin' - 6.2. Pleasant enough but too generic. Anybody could have sung it.

Ramble On - 5.8. My fourth highest album score. Could have given it a bit more but the original is better.
My dad is a huge Led Zeppelin fan. Fun fact - Their last studio album 'In Through The Out Door,' was recorded at ABBA's Polar Studios in 1978.

We'll probably lose one or two tracks from 'It's A Man's World' but 'My Everything' is my lowest score left so I'd like to see that eliminated.

I love how the eliminations are scattered throughout the day, Sprocky!

I doubt "My Everything" is going before the top 100. It is boring, but still a very pretty song that I think has some fans.

My guesses for tomorrow's eliminations are more tracks from "It's a Man's World" and perhaps one from "Not That Kind".

Whew! We love a backup host giving some more context!! Thanks. I completely forgot about that tweet.

I hope that gives these weaker songs a small spotlight. I can't promise though I can pull this off every day. I expect especially Mondays to be a struggle ddd (I work 10 hours shifts then).
