Now That's What I Call Music (Nostalgia)

Don't like the idea of combining two years. The artwork is meh. Most of the tracks are on the original Now 40s. Why do I need to buy this?

If they'd done ONE super comprehensive set for each year without all the stupid bonus editions I would be collecting them. But it's all too messy for me.

I guess 00s music is still kinda pricey/awkward to license? I'm so excited for this still - but I wish they got the same treatment as the 70s/80s editions.

I'm gonna work on a "Extra" CD and see what was missing.

But what is exciting about it?
Because for me my first NOW was 44, and my fascination only grew in the 00s. So the lack of acknowledgement from the NOW team about that decade is kinda heartbreaking, but now they are finally getting to my era. Sadly I feel like I'm the only one - the comments in the fan group on Facebook are so elitist it makes me cringe.

Plus it's nice to see The Corrs, Cher, P!nk, A1, Len, Missy Elliott, Alcazar finally get song appearances on NOW albums similar to the Numbered ones. I Remember getting so annoyed when NOW 46/47 didn't have Breathless. 8 year old me was heartbroken!

I like the era too, I just don't think they've done a particularly good job when the point of these releases is surely to collect all the essential hits from one year together.

While I'm glad the 2000s is finally getting some much needed compilation attention, it's a shame they feel they have to combine 2 years per volume, they seem to be making a conscious effort to include artists / bands you'd find on the 80s Yearbooks to target that audience, out of all the songs there's a couple of truly dire songs I was hoping they'd neglect, at least from the vinyl, but that's not the case here. Hopefully there'll be Extra's as there's a lot more music from this era not represented on here. Also, we need the 90s very soon.

Yas at them doing 00's. The inclusion of some tracks not present on the original Nows (Cher, P!nk) are just enough of an incentive for me to get this one teebs.

Now Alternative '80s

A decent spin off. The Zaine Griff track turned up on Buried Treasure '80s. I'll be picking up the CD version. Interesting choice of Clash track; will annoy a lot of people who will try and tell you "IT'S NOT THE CLASH". I love it.
