Now That's What I Call Music (Nostalgia)

I believe Erasure and Depeche Mode (and up until this Pet Shop Boys) have a 'no 1980s compilations' rule for licensing - hence why the numbered Nows have got through but not the yearbooks or any other '80s comp, as they don't want to be defined as '80s acts. I wonder if PSB have actually made an exception for the Yearbooks, I could imagine them seeing them and not liking their singles being missed out.

Yeah this is what I found confusing about the Pet Shop Boys absence, they’ve always loved their singles back catalogue being represented on a Now albums so nothing on the 1986 Yearbook was concerning, it’s good to see them on 1988 and hopefully Final Chapter 85-89 and the Extra will mop up West End Girls, Suburbia, I’m wondering if they went with 1992 as the first 90s album because it’s the one year absent of Pet Shop Boys and Now we’re holding out on a deal with them?

On another note, I see HMV are doing a £10 off deal when you buy the vinyl edition of 00-01 and 02-03 together… I’m guessing these aren’t selling? I’ve seen 00-01 stock at every HMV I’ve been too.
Also it’s a shame they’ve ditched the Extra edition for these because there’s definitely room for it.
