Now That's What I Call Music (Nostalgia)

Happy 40th Anniversary to NOW That's What I Call Music! To celebrate the team have announced a 5 Disc greatest hits spin-off, but the more interesting thing are these:

Each NOW here contains 3CDs each focusing on 10 years of the NOW History. Each one contains a 26 page book for each song, similar to the NOW Yearbooks. Each era also have a 3LP coloured vinyl. The track listings are available here

I LOVE this idea! The track listings are obviously no surprise, but they pick some great songs on each one. Plus the '93-'03 cover brings back such nostalgia with that logo-font.

"He's on the Phone"!

It's a no from me. Why do I need these AND the yearbooks?

Why are all the songs duplicated on Now 40 Years?

It feels like deja vu of Now 25th Anniversary 30th Anniversary Now Decades Now Years Now That's What I Call Now and with very similar tracklists. it's just getting silly now.

Don't get me started on that "exclusive numbered print"!

Brought to you by the people behind the Belinda catalogue recycling, no doubt.

What bothers me most about these is the colour schemes. They clash with existing Yearbooks. Why?

Seems that every track included on the four limited sets and the regular one is already on a numbered Now. Sequencing is in order of appearance rather than music style - which does matter.

I didn't realise Kate Bush was on the "no go" list for NOWs. It's only the best song on there.
She’s certainly a hit and miss girl for the NOWs.

Don’t mind about the French Kissing song - an absolute waste of space on NOW 16. These late 80s/early 90s NOWs are a bit lost on me. The Smash Hits albums from Dover(?) are much better in my opinion.

Also NOW 116 finally features Madonna… as a guest artist…. on a Sam Smith song. Been waiting over 100 NOWs for her, and that’s what we got.

In an alternative universe:
NOW 2 - HOLIDAY
NOW 3 - LUCKY STAR
NOW 4 - LIKE A VIRGIN
NOW 5 - CRAZY FOR YOU
NOW 6 - INTO THE GROOVE
NOW 7 - PAPA DON'T PREACH
NOW 8 - TRUE BLUE
NOW 9 - OPEN YOUR HEART
NOW 10 - THE LOOK OF LOVE
NOW 14 - LIKE A PRAYER
NOW 15 - EXPRESS YOURSELF
NOW 16 - CHERISH

That's the 80's done...
