This entire saga is my favourite thing to happen in popculture in years. An iconic mess

Early reviews for both The Woman King and Bros have been really positive at TIFF.
I'm glad Bros is getting some good reviews, I can't wait to see it. I am a huge fan of Luke Macfarlane, both Brothers & Sisters and Killjoys are up there as my favourite shows and I love him in all those Hallmark movies too. He deserves to break out properly.
I like Billy too, Billy on the Street is great, but I am a bit worried since I feel he works better a bit more off the cuff and unscripted. He loses some of his star power when he is forced to stick to a script. But I have faith in this since he had such a big part in making it.

Cate Blanchett and Colin Farrell win Best Actress and Best Actor at the Venice film festival, Luca Guadagnino wins Best Director:

Everybody’s favourite season - i.e., awards season - has officially kicked into gear, I hope y’all have girded your loins.

Also, I heartily recommend the following chat with the cast and director of Women Talking, which is also garnering awards buzz for Sarah Polley, Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley and Ben Whishaw (what a line-up, I’m salivating):

There’s laughter, there’s tears, there’s feminism - a fantastic read! I imagine some parts might be spoiler-y, though, but who really knows without having seen the film.
