Oscar Bait 2022 - 2023

Bros was cute. It tries to cram too much into two hours but I definitely loved seeing a love story about two men in the rom-com stream.

The supporting characters are paper thin and there is a late hookup in the film that I actually wish they made a film about.

I sorta want to see The Fabelmans, despite myself. I guess his therapist ordered him to either finally work through his parents divorce and stop finding a way to put it into all of his films or just make one damn movie about it.

hmm Fablemens is looking a little too much like Belfast to me, but I know Michelle Williams is going to knock it out of the park.

Babylon I expected to be a little more self serious, however I'm excited to watch Margot do mountains of cocaine.

So Babylon takes place in the 20's and the end of silent film? But Margot is costumed like Britney Spears circa 2003?

Had my first TIFF premiere experience, didn’t I girlies.

Pearl is really good! X was super fun, and it matches, and maybe somewhat betters that entertainment level. It’s basically a John Waters-esq, camp character study, and I had a blast.

It’ll never happen because of genre and the movie just not being prestige enough, but Mia Goth should be in consideration for Best Actress in a just world. She puts in so much work in both films, and it’s a delight to watch.
