I’m excited to watch the final nominee of that year (my current personal winner is Tessa Thompson, with Olivia highest actual nominee in 4th and Kristen in 8th).
Will Penelope dethrone any of the above!?
Jessica and Nicole (and their films) were pretty bad and had no business being anywhere near that line up when Tessa, Renate and Gaga were in the conversation).

It should do. It's one of my favourites of the year (along with Renate and Agathe Rousselle). Never got round to Passing. So many of these Netflix films that I know are just there stay lower on my to-watch priorities. Then I think it left.
Oof. Finally caught up on Flowers of the Killer Moon. It's so... plodding and episodic. Inertia in cinematic form. Gladstone was mesmerizing at times but I feel like the script did her a disservice in the longrun, stripping her of much agency.
Mother Hüller highkey gonna be the true winner of this Oscars without actually winning I think. Coming out of European indie obscurity to snatch roles in two of the most acclaimed movies on the year - the nominated of which is so spellbinding. She did that.

She gave a great speech, but that ceremony was a chore.
All I could think of was Tracy Jordan (30 Rock) saying: Without actors, who would give awards to actors? (Or words to that effect.)
Damn. All of Us Strangers really lives up to the hype. It's strange how it felt so unsettling and comforting at the same time.

I must be dead inside because I finally watched All Of Us Strangers and thought it was very well made and acted but not a single tear escaped my eyes?
I think it touched people that were mostly touched by grief (not to speculate for you personally). I was moved by the diner scene at the end where they met saying a proper goodbye. Also Andrew has these eyes where he looks like he's about to cry at any minute - its effective.
Not a criticism of anyone for not enjoying Poor Things, but 90% of that review is criticising the film for not doing things it’s not even trying to do.
