Went to see this Korean/American film last night. Really stunning. The leads are brilliant and it has echoes of Lost In Translation.

I liked this a lot. Very melancholic, lots of clever layering, surprisingly funny, and a pretty perfect ending.

I liked this but was quite tired when I saw it which is never the right vibe to bring to a film like this. Would quite like to see it again. I liked it more as I dwelled on it. I think it’s a much “smaller” film than the hype would lead one to believe - which isn’t a bad thing, but I’d consider it almost an anti-love story in some ways. I don’t know. I need to watch it again.
I loved it - it was like a top tier Richard Linklater film.

Glad to see Greta Lee get some mainstream attention. To me, she will always be Soojin “My boyfriend is doing lights for Carly Rae Jepsen” from Girls.

I didn’t clock this was her! I’m doing a GIRLS rewatch right now and knew I’d seen Greta in something else recently but hadn’t twigged it was that. Sooj.
This is also still my favorite movie of the year. Everyone been shouting out the leads but let me throw some praise John Magaro’s way. He was the perfect person to play Arthur. You can read everything on his face, the pain, the jealousy and ultimately, the love.
It’s such a sad film, I’ve only watched it once since seeing it in theatres but it’s out on Blu-ray tomorrow so I’ll be watching it again very soon.

It was such a quiet, reserved movie that I didn't even realize how much it affected me until the very ending, which shattered my heart into a million pieces.
I felt the same kinda! I was enjoying it a decent amount but then the finale hit me like a tonne of bricks.
Agree, that ending is perfect, it’s so affecting and it just sneaks up on you - the weight of the whole thing comes crashing down. I haven’t stopped thinking about it since I saw it a week ago, such a beautiful film.

Lived up to the hype.
Without a doubt, my film of the year. As a migrant who moved to the West, I completely relate to the protagonist. I’m content and proud of what I’ve accomplished, but I’m also saddened by everything that I’ve lost. The world that I can never inhabit in the same way again. The last scene absolutely killed me.
