Pet Shop Boys

I'd hoped the DVD would also be available to buy on iTunes but can't see it anywhere. I don't really do DVDs any more which is a shame.

Writer Jonathan Harvey and Pet Shop Boys are to present the world premiere of a new cabaret show at the 2019 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

"MUSIK" is a 50-minute, one-woman show with an outrageous book by Jonathan Harvey and six songs by Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe including four new ones written for this show. It will star multi-award-winning actress Frances Barber reprising her role as Billie Trix from the 2001 musical, "Closer to Heaven".

"MUSIK" will run from 5 to 24 August at Assembly Rooms (Bijou venue), 54 George Street, Edinburgh, EH2 2LR.

Tickets go on sale 10am Thursday 18 April via the link below.

I was hoping the same as I don't have a Blu Ray player and I'd rather not watch it in dvd quality if an HD digital download was available...

Always takes a while, can't figure out way. Patiently waiting for mine as well.

I emailed them on Monday, I didn't get a reply, just a sudden email from DPD saying a package was being delivered the next day. I only just managed to pick it up from my neighbour, turns out they had sent a copy by next day courier. So I don't know whether that means they just replace no questions asked or they looked at my order and realised they hadn't actually sent it. But anyway, it's here, thank god.

I went to the talk with Neil at the Royal Academy last night, which was basically promo for the lyrics book, but nonetheless a thoroughly entertaining hour of insightful anecdotes as well as lighthearted jokes about the process of writing Pet Shop Boys songs.

I took home two things which I found particularly inspiring:

- They never go through the motions. They do everything they do simply because they love doing it.
- How much respect Neil and Chris seem to have for each other and how strong their partnership really is. Maybe it was because Chris wasn't there and Neil felt like he could say things that he wouldn't mention in his presence, but I got the impression that at the core of their collaboration there is utmost and complete trust, built on a friendship that's lasted a lifetime.

Not that I doubted any of it, but it warmed my heart to be reminded of some of the reasons why I love them so much. If I get to live my 60s like that, I'd be a lucky man.

So well said. Lovely report. Thanks!

I just saw that Pet Shop Boys are one of the acts at Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park 2019. Unfortunately most of the line-up is utter dogshit so will wait for a proper gig.

Yeah I saw that and thought mmm I'll pass on this one. Bring on the new album!

(EDIT: Obviously Bananarama are amazing but I'm already seeing them this summer, otherwise I agree with you on the rest of the lineup)
