Pet Shop Boys

I went to see the Boys at Leeds Arena on Saturday. I'd seen the same tour a year ago but when this show was announced I couldn't resist because I could walk to the gig and it was in a much better venue. God it was wonderful. The crowd were really into it and when the show popped off it really popped off (multiple times). I did notice that they'd dropped You Only Tell Me Love Me When You're Drunk from the setlist but I didn't mind too much. Just a wonderful evening.

The tour really has (or had, I saw it last year) the perfect setlist. Only glaring omissions for me were I’m With Stupid and Love Etc (and maybe The Pop Kids) as outside of the 2 Hotspot singles the only song from this century was Vocal, but equally as the first time I’d ever seen them I wouldn’t have wanted any of the other songs cut!

We got Paninaro instead though which feels like a fair swap. I'd seen it in Manchester last year, saw it again in Liverpool Friday, it's just a stunning set. Am I imagining it or had the arrangements of some of the songs changed a bit from the first leg?

Ah so that means we didn't get something else. Losing My Mind?

I didn't recognise any different arrangements but I'm not that good on picking things up like that!

I was at the London show last week, a truly fantastic show and the boys are in top form. I got quite emotional a couple of times!

I wasn't familiar with the original setlist but I learned about Losing My Mind as it was mentioned in the programme (which looks like it wasn't updated since last year), shame they dropped it

PS there is a dedicated tour thread, not sure if we should move this discussion there?

Literally my favourite PSB song.

Fantastic news, at first I didn't like the artwork as I thought it was just pixels and it gave me Yes vibes, but on closer inspection it looks like it's meant to resemble Legos which is obviously very clever. Not a patch on the original artwork though, wish they had simply recreated the hot pink artwork for the CD and the helmet photos on white background for the vinyl, like the old promo LP. But it's PSB and Farrow in 2023 we're talking about, so I'll have to deal! Preordered immediately of course.
