75. Heartbreak Down
Average score: 7.10

Lowest score: 4 (@AllGagaLike)
My score: 7

Greatest Hits... So Far!!! is unquestionably one of the strongest greatest hits of all time, congregating a small selection of her very best with four brand new tracks, one of which was this little Kelly Clarkson-esque ode to heartbreak. Whilst it is, according to us, the worst song on the album it is also the last remaining track to receive no perfect scores. Not everybody has that!

It's hard for me to imagine a world in which this actually made a studio album, or even a bonus track. Considering 'Whataya Want From Me' made the album I can't help but feel this was a throwaway song for another artist, and it really does sound like Kelly Clarkson would have eaten this up, but apparently it was intended to be the third single? There's nothing particularly wrong with the song, it's just there.

Commentary corner:

@JMRGBY88: (9) I’ll tell you who this would have suited more than P!nk; Kelly Clarkson.

@The Hot Rock: (6) Much better than Raise Your Glass or F*cking Perfect, of course it's the one I hadn't heard.

@rick: (9) Another shouty Pink by numbers but I eat that stuff up

@abael: (6) Easily the weakest addition to the compilation, still has its good points

@Laurence: (8) Never heard this one before and I gotta say... It starts off quite strong and I like the track a lot? This rate is just great before seeing her in concert and even if this is the only find I get, I'm happy with it! I love the build up in the verses and chorus is pretty good too. Also she shoutouts iTunes? Pretty dated nowadays eh. But I'll give it a pass. The bridge is average I think but all right.

@Music Is Life: (9) This is a jam. I love the chorus, especially the “You beat me at…” and “I’m sick all in…” parts, and the middle-8 is so good here. A great song that should’ve been on the main edition of the album, and another top 5 single.

@Maki: (7.75) All song from her greatest hits album have one thing in common - they’re generic. This is not an exception, but that doesn’t mean that it’s bad. It sounds like it could’ve been a single, mainly because of the great chorus which sounds so familiar to me. The flat production with more electronic elements is not really to my taste. And why do I get Katy Perry vibes during the chorus?

@R27: (5) Pleasant and catchy.
@savilizabeths: (8) “Definitely a straightforward bop that gets stuck in my head super easily.”

I love the last two eliminations. 'Heartbreak Down' has grown on me since it's release and it's her vocals on the chorus that sell it. Great track. While 'The King is Dead...' is superior to most of The Truth About Love, so it's a shame it's out.

I'd plump/hope for 'I Got Money Now' leaving soon, not because I don't like it but because I find it triggering.

So that's the longest lasting song with no 10's. Congrats!
It's finally an elimination I can stand behind - while there are worse songs left, this is where "Heartbreak Down" would probably appear on my own ranking of her songs.
It's not the weakest from the greatest hits album if you ask me; that belongs to "Raise Your Glass".

I'd plump/hope for 'I Got Money Now' leaving soon, not because I don't like it but because I find it triggering.
No... I really thought that you adore that song. Please don't tell me you lowered its score because of the personal effect it has/had on you, aww.

Up next: Try This is losing one of its best tracks. Y'all are wrong.
If it's Catch Me While I'm Sleeping, I'm burning this entire website down.

74. Waiting for Love
Average score: 7.11
Highest score: 10x4 (@Lost Boy, @nikkysan, @P'NutButter, @LiK )
Lowest score: 3 (@The Hot Rock)
My score: 10

Most of the commentary for this seemed occupied with how long the song actually takes to get to the proper chorus, which must be an attention span thing because that, to me, is one of the key qualities of the songs. It's easy for a song to be relentlessly rolling along at one pace, there's something really special about songs that slowly unfold and unpack their underlying message. Besides, it's only two minutes before we get the rusty wailing and... can you all really not stand a two minute wait? Streaming really did kill the album.

'Waiting For Love' is another Linda Perry co-write as well as being produced by her (seriously at this point I think our voters really just... don't like her approach) and is a five and a half minute epic about a little girl lost in love. Lyrically it's a little sporadic and Evanescence-y but the bridge is a highlight of the entire album:

I'm waiting for a new day to rise
Conversations to make sense to me and my mind
I need someone to lift me right off of my feet
And I want it, and I need it, and I'll leave it all behind
And all the changes I've made
And I remember the words, that you'll never say

Funnily enough she actually name-checks this as one of her favourite's from the album here:

Commentary corner:

@Verandi: (4) Not really bad but it goes on forever and the vocals of the chorus are very Fergie-on-a-bad-day, only louder.

@P'NutButter: (10) her vocal on this is insanely good and I love the instrumental

@rick: (4) Dreadful. Just dreadful

@abael: (5) Everything is done well here, but the song itself isn't good.

@tylerc904: (6) Ignoring bonus tracks, this is the one dud on the album for me. It’s not bad it just grates on me.

@Maki: (8) I remember not being keen on this song in the beginning, but I really like it now. The build-up to that chorus with explosive chorus is great, while the song length may still be a bit too much for me. Her raspy vocals are really good, but it feels like she overuses them. Probably an unpopular opinion, but this is my least favorite song which Linda produced on this album.

@R27: (6.5) P!nk emotes the hell out of that chorus, but the song feels like it takes forever to get to the chorus, and even then, the chorus becomes less affecting with each repetition.

@savilizabeths: (5) “Something about this feels like it drags. It’s fine. I do like when she starts belting, ohs sounds great.”

Wow... the surprises keep coming. I thought this was one of the fan favorites from the album.
While I agree that it may be a bit too grating, "Waiting for Love" is such a powefully delivered song and the instrumental and detailed production are incredible.
Went too early, but it could've been worse, speaking of "Try This" tracks (but how is "Walk Away" still in?)

It really seems to be that way... I just don't get why.

ATRL voted "Waiting for Love" as a runner-up in the P!nk essentials rate (out of 97 songs). Taste?

I gave this masterpiece a solid 10... So please tell me you had a calculating error and it wasn't factored into the score and this elimination becomes null.

Y'all are tasteless that's all I gotta say.

I mean the last section of Waiting For Love is really:
Waiting for love
She's waiting, waiting for love
She's waiting, waiting for love
She's waiting, waiting for love
She's waiting for love
She's waiting, waiting for love
She's waiting for love
She's waiting for love
She's waiting for love
Waiting for love
She's waiting, waiting for love
She's waiting, waiting so long
She's waiting, waiting for love

With every line being more shouty than the one before. It literally never ends. Y'all do too much over its elimination. It was its time.
